General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that the land of Port Charles is about to explode with two major returns. Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) is set to come back in the days/weeks ahead, and with the show putting out a casting call for Lulu Spencer (last played by Emme Rylan), it’s only a matter of time before Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will be surrounded by most of her children (if Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) is released from prison, she’d have all her kids back).
Still, could the return of both Spencer kids foreshadow another major comeback?
GH Spoilers – Why Is Lucky Spencer Returning?
GH spoilers indicate many fans have been wondering what will bring Lucky back to Port Charles. After all, it’s been a hot minute since he’s been home.
Could he have news that his father, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) is alive? Viewers may recall that on New Year’s Day 2022, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) returned to town and told both Laura and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) that Luke died in Austria, after a cable car accident.
With that being said, this is the land of soaps, where anything is possible. The last time Lucky was home in 2015, he returned with information that Jake Webber (Hudson West) was not dead, but alive on Cassadine Island. Could lightning strike twice?
GH Spoilers – The Anthony Geary Factor
Luke Spencer is a role that would be challenging to recast. Not to say that this isn’t possible; however, actor Anthony Geary has made it clear he is retired and is likely staying that way.
Again, there’s always a slight possibility that Tony could come out of retirement for a storyline, he has done this in the past, but there’s a good chance that the actor will stay put for now.
Last month, fellow GHer, Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) visited with Geary in Amsterdam and posted a photo of it on Instagram. The actor looked like he was quite happy with retirement life.
With both Lucky and Lulu returning to Port Charles … could Luke come back from the dead, too?

No Luke cannot be recast. Luke, Sonny and Laura are 3 that can never be recast
I couldn’t agree with you more and you and I are FAR from the only ones with this opinion. My one wish is that soap web sites would stop with “teaser” article titles hinting a possible Luke return. If Anthony Geary had even an ounce of desire to resurrect Luke Spencer, it would have taken place during the GH episode tribute for his sister, Bobbie, which was also a memorial for his friend, Jackie Zeman (if only in the form of a taped appearance filmed abroad). I hoped for his return, even short term, for more years than I’ll ever ‘fess up to but I finally realized it wasn’t going to happen. Too bad the GH writers couldn’t find a more “dignified” storyline for the character’s demise than a sabotaged cable car accident.
Lastly, Tony appears to be living a life that he loves and one that all of us would be lucky to have in our golden years.
P.S. You were also right on target about recasting Sonny or Laura.
GH should have recast Luke Spencer years ago.I know it’s tradition to get the original actors who have portrayed the legacy characters…but sometimes a recast is necessary. Lucky has been recast several times…none can come close to the original… but it happened. You recast Jagger( the worst recast in soap opera history) when you had the original Greek God built Antonio Sabatto Jr. Who was willing to return! I’ll never understand that one! Surely you can find a curly haired Luke Spencer look a like that can act! Anthony Geary has no intention of returning to the states from his utopia in Amsterdam so move on with a recast! Luke needs to come home! I think it’s a shame he did not show up for Jakie Zeman’s service…. but I digress.Recasting LuLu is a mistake… but at least the character is waking up in time to add drama!
