General Hospital Spoilers: Maurice Benard Pays Tribute To Max Gail

ABC General Hospital spoilers reveal that the end has finally come for Mike Corbin (Max Gail) in Port Charles. This week he passed away with his family at his bedside and with fans reaching for the tissues. The performances were out of this world especially from Gail and his onscreen son Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Benard posted a sweet tribute video to Gail on his Instagram and while it was poignant, the veteran departing actor managed to get the last laugh.

Benard and Gail are facing the camera in a closeup and Benard says that he loves Gail like a dad and he’s, “gonna miss him like there’s no tomorrow,” to which Gail replies, “there’s a tomorrow?”

Sadly there isn’t a tomorrow on the show for Gail or his character but his portrayal will live on in the hearts of fans.

This is what Benard posted: “I think it’s once every decade you find an actor, who changes the landscape. That is Max Gail. Thank you Max for always challenging me and making me a better actor. Go out and change the world!!!”

GH Spoilers – Maurice Benard Paid Tribute To Max Gail

The fans loved the post and one wrote, “You guys had a phenomenal relationship on camera and I can’t tell you how much I loved your storyline together! we will miss him!”

Another said, “We will miss him on the show, but at least there will be flashback memories of Mike,” and another one echoed that sentiment by writing, “Love Max!!! and you Maurice!!! incredible story, amazing acting!!!”

One fan captured just how incredible the storyline was for millions of fans: “I cried all week! My husband and I both have grandmothers in different stages of Alzheimer’s. It’s amazing how quickly it progresses. So glad for this storyline and the way it was portrayed.”

In addition to Benard, many other stars gave amazing performances saying goodbye to Mike. Eden McCoy who plays Josslyn Jacks, Mike’s granddaughter, had several scenes in which she imagined that Mike was alive in the future.

Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) was also a vital player as Mike’s condition deteriorated, helping Sonny get through the pain of his loss and come to grips with the harsh reality.
