General Hospital’s Maurice recently won his third Emmy and is thrilled. However, he seems to be more moved by his wife and son’s reaction to the award than his own. Maurice say that you don’t get to see the family’s reactions when you are at the ceremony. Seeing his wife and son and how proud they are of his accomplishments makes him very proud. Maurice says this Emmy was much more about the storyline than anything else and that is why he is so proud of it.

GH Spoilers – Maurice Benard Likes Playing Mike

General Hospital’s Maurice states that he likes playing Mike. Maurice says Sonny is dark and he is always in third gear while in the roles. Maurice says Sonny is hard to play and Mike is like an extension of himself. However, many fans are sick of Mike and simply tell Maurice that they want Sonny to come home to Port Charles now.

Long time Sonny fans are sick of the amnesia story and of Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Maurice says he is sure that Sonny’s return will be worth is. However, a great deal of fans are tired of waiting and may not be around to see it. Fans are very resistant to change and a full year of Mike is getting to be way too much for some loyal viewers.

General Hospital Spoilers – Maurice Benard’s View On Leading Ladies And Fans

General Hospital’s Maurice loves working with Cynthia. Maurice also states that he liked working with Kelly Sullivan before when Sonny was with Kate Howard. However, Maurice states that fans are like your mother and Sonny fans only have two leading ladies they liked him with. Maurice says you have Brenda fans and Carly fans. The fans are not going to have Sonny with anyone but these two women because the fans bases speak out so strongly. However, if this is the case, many fans are wondering why Sonny isn’t already home. Maurice goes on to say that playing some of his pairings takes a lot out of him because it feels like he is against the world when fans are not happy with Sonny’s current love interest. Playing Sonny takes a lot out of him especially when people come at him with complaints. However, fans wants Sonny home and Mike gone soon.

Maurice was diagnosed with bipolar disorder years ago and fans often tell him how much the podcast has helped them. Maurice is very proud of the podcast and the actors who take the time to sit down and talk with him.
