After all, how devastated would Nina be if they tracked her baby down only to find that he or she had died later, possibly as a child or teen? There’s also the possibility that the child, like Peter August (Wes Ramsey) with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) would reject Nina’s motherly overtures and Nina herself! And of course the split pendant necklace and Madeline Reeves’ (Donna Mills) note that it would mend a broken heart could mean something else entirely!
Nina:Maybe she’s sending me a message from the grave. Maxie:What would she be trying to tell you? Nina:That I didn’t miscarry. That my child is alive…somewhere. #GH pic.twitter.com/UUElpnZt62

Nina, however, will not be dissuaded or stopped in her search for her child. Because of the significance of the split necklace, and that she pretended it was her link to her missing mother as a child when she pretended to be Little Orphan Annie, she is convinced the child survived and likely has the other half of the necklace.
She may even contact Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) who obviously will have to turn her down because of a conflict of interest—Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) already hired him for the same thing, and are several steps ahead of Nina! Curtis would probably make some other excuse, and then let Valentin know Nina wanted to hire him.
Curtis had previously urged Valentin to let Nina in on the search, but like Maxie, Valentin doesn’t want to give Nina false hope and cause further heartache and devastation for her. The path to finding Nina’s daughter may have many twists and turns, and a race between Valentin and Nina to find her may be possible-and it may be with neither knowing of the other’s search!
