General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate fans were shocked on Saturday, November 23 when Chad Duell announced on Instagram that he was leaving the soap.
Executive Producer Frank Valentini, hopped on X later that day to confirm Duell’s departure and also revealed there were no imminent plans to recast the character.
This not only means that Chad will leave Port Charles, but the character, Michael Corinthos, is going to be gone as of the new year, as well. So how will Michael’s exit storyline unfold?
GH Spoilers: Theory #1 – Michael Flees … With The Kids
GH spoilers know that Michael is in a tumultuous storyline right now that involves his wife Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) sleeping with his uncle Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison).
He caught them doing the deed in the Q nursery on a surveillance camera but has yet to spill to either of them about what he saw.
Valentini noted in his X post that he promised a “great story for Michael and his family when Chad exits in the new year.”
This could offer an interesting hint as to how Michael’s departure could go. What if Willow and Drew continue to circle around their one-night stand and dive into another passionate moment (and get caught)? Could Michael take the kids and dramatically leave town?
He may not tell Willow what he’s up to. Micheal is a good guy but also has a nasty dark side to him.
He also happens to have both Corinthos and Q family power and resources, so there’s no doubt that if he wanted to disappear, with Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequoia & Serenity Mork Macko) in tow, he could do so.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was very supportive of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) doing all he could to ensure he remained the sole guardian of his son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) during the week of November 18-22.
Imagine if he knew what predicament Michael was in and why he wanted to flee. The mob boss would do everything in his power to help his son.
GH Spoilers: Theory #2 – Presumed Dead
GH spoilers suggest that Michael’s exit will likely offer a window of opportunity for a return, whether it’s for Duell to come back or a recast and the easiest and most dramatic way of doing this is a “presumed dead” exit.
But how could this play out? Could Michael and Drew find themselves on a cliff (near the docks, etc.), fighting over their recent conflicts with Willow when Michael plunges over after his uncle has pushed him?
Could a mob-related explosion take place that takes Michael’s life? A shooting?
The only problem with this storyline is the aftermath. Could Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Sonny endure losing another child?
GH Spoilers: Theory #3 – Leaves Town To “Clear His Head” … Or Possible Jail Term
A lot can happen between now and the new year. Could Michael simply leave town to clear his head? What if Willow chooses to be with Drew in the days and weeks ahead and Michael decides he needs a break from Port Charles?
Then again, Michael could land in the slammer once again, which would offer an opportunity for him to be gone but not gone for good.
Whether it’s because he tries to kill Drew with his bare hands or does some unethical/illegal dealings at Aurora or ELQ, Michael could find himself behind bars, causing him to disappear from the canvas, for now.

What in this world is happen to this show. You got maybe 50 people that live in this town and everyone is sleeping with someone other than who they should or dieing and coming back to life. Being in a comer for years and get up and just walk away from a hospital. One hS been dead for years and then came back a different person . I have watch this show from the 60s it was wild when Luck was saving the world but it has really got bad now. I am at the point of stopping watching it.
