First off, he confessed to Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) that he was still in pain, now and again, from his third-degree burns condition, and also noted that he took a pain pill that day.
Not so much because he was hurting, but he knew it would be a busy day, and he didn’t want to overdo it or deal with discomfort and ruin Daisy Celeste’s (Levi Clark Couglin) christening. Could Michael be on the cusp of a pill addiction storyline?
Michael Corinthos’s Pill-Popping Addiction
It seemed as if the trauma Michael faced during the penthouse explosion was triggered during the July 1 show, as the single dad had flashbacks of that day when he got caught in the crossfire of his father’s business.
Kristina Corinthos-Davis’s (Kate Mansi) bar got firebombed, and she was stuck inside Charlie’s Pub when it all happened. While she ended up being okay, Michael clearly still has not gotten over the accident he had in January, both physically and mentally.
It’s interesting that the show covered his time at the Baden-Baden facility, but did he also have any therapy sessions in between recovery efforts?

Michael’s Dependence on The Pills
It’s not uncommon for people to take an ibuprofen or an aspirin to ward off any potential pain they may feel. Doctors often encourage patients to do so at times, and Michael’s recovery may not be any different.
He may have gotten instructions from his physicians to take a pain pill if he thinks that a day may be strenuous, just to avoid any discomfort.
With that said, because Michael had so many memories from that day when Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse exploded, and he mentioned his painkillers and the discomfort he’s in, it’s not hard to see that there’s a potential for an addiction storyline to launch.
Add in that Michael’s had a lot of ups and downs over the years, with his marriage to Willow Tait (Katelyn McMullen) falling apart, and it’s easy to see how he could lean into a substance abuse addiction.

In light of his situation, Michael might be using painkillers as a coping mechanism for not only the trauma he faced during his penthouse explosion accident but everything else that has happened in the last since the beginning of 2025.

Do we the viewers really have to go there?? Michael was allowed to live, get treatment and get back home to PC. Why the heck does he have to go through pill addiction? Isn’t there enough so called drama on canvas at this time that the character and viewers have to be exposed to him trying to get over pill addiction?? I don’t feel writers have a pleasant thought or a bit of compassion i their mind set.
First it was Sasha, and Now they want a Storyline with Michael and his pain medicine!! Please writers don’t take that Route enough is enough, he’s been to hell and back!! One thing I’d would have liked to seen is Michael getting help for what he went through with the bombing ect!! These writers keep adding and adding More Storylines before finishing others!! Now the newest storyline is Poor Rocco wondering who his Mom is, and who the hell carried him?? Anyways back to Michael, lets leave him alone, and DON’T add drug Addiction to his already complicated storyline he has NOW!!

Why are these writers so hell bent on Michael and Sasha becoming string out opioids? Are they going to make Sasha think she’s losing her mind, get Michael hopped up on drugs then have Weeping Willow and
Congressman Pond Scum go to court and show both Michael and Sasha unfit to care for any of the children then get custody of all 3 just so Willow can to get revenge on Sasha too!

Cdf, Your 100% right, I swear these writers are getting all their Idea’s from Us !! They Best LEAVE SASHA & MICHAEL ALONE with all these Stupid idea’s !! The FANS won’t go for it, many are just about to walk away from GH myself included !! Every storyline is depressing, or really OUT THERE, and if the writers keep this up it will be Good Bye GH !! How about having some Happy, Fun Loving stories, switch it up, get rid of the One’s that Us Fans feel they should be GONE!! The Teens are acting Better than the Adults so maybe pay more attention to their Stories!! When Britt comes back Writers please don’t make it some Far Out Story, have her come back as the REAL BRITT PLEASE!! We the Fan’s want that more than some Weird story, and bring back Liesl, and hell bring back Scott !! We need some Humor with Scott, and Liesl so start Now because your losing US FAN’S FAST!!
