General Hospital Spoilers: Michael’s Dad Is Dead, But It’s Not A.J.

General Hospital spoilers reveals Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) has spent the better part of this year lamenting over the man his father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), has become.

He’s not proud of that name anymore, and he’s hoping he can use his inside man — Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) — to gather enough evidence on Sonny to take down his business of organized crime once and for all. Michael would love to see something good come of the Corinthos name, but let’s be honest, Sonny’s business never bothered him before.

What bothers him is that Sonny has put Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) before everyone else in his life. But a new conflict is brewing. Michael will soon find out the family ties that bind him aren’t what he thought they were, and it’s going to leave him reaching out to all the family he can get.

General Hospital Spoilers — The Backstory

When Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) found out she was pregnant with Michael, she went to great lengths to conceal the paternity and move forward with her life. She had been involved with A.J. Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) at the time, and she wasn’t interested in pursuing a life with him. However, she was already falling for her good friend Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Jason being the right-hand man that he was, agreed to pretend to be Michael’s father in the interest of protecting him from the overreach of the Quartermaine’s. However, the truth eventually came out that A.J. was actually Michael’s father.

GH Spoilers – Indicate The Paternity Test Was Falsified

Carly and Jason were so busy back then trying to make sure A.J. didn’t even start to suspect he could’ve been Michael’s father that they didn’t think twice about the legitimacy of the paternity test when it was done. Is it possible A.J. knew about their plan to subvert him long before he let on finding out?

If so, or if any member of the Quartermaine family wisened up to Carly’s plan, they may have had their own agenda and made sure the paternity test said what they wanted it to say. This wouldn’t be a hard fix for the Quartermaine family with both Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) working at the hospital at that time.

General Hospital Spoilers — Michael Corinthos Makes Peace With The Truth

There may be an opportunity for the truth to come out soon when Michael and several others in his circle are tested in pursuit of hoping one of them matches Willow’s donor type for a bone marrow transplant. When a peculiar result appears in Michael’s labs, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) might step forward acknowledging the trait found matches that of his and Jason’s biological mother, Susan Moore-Baldwin (Gail Ramsey), Michael will put two and two together and recognize he’s still a Quartermaine, but not by A.J.
