General Hospital Spoilers: Michael’s Takedown Forces Dante To Arrest Sonny — And Carly To Cover His Business

General Hospital spoilers reveals Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) has been hard at work trying to dismantle his father’s business. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is a known drug lord and mobster who runs most of the criminal activity among the five families in Port Charles.

Michael became bitter and resentful toward his father after Sonny came back from Nixon Falls in love with another woman. However, he hasn’t put much thought into what happens when Sonny’s business starts to crumble. Michael doesn’t know what he doesn’t know about this business, and it could come back to bite him — and everyone else.

General Hospital Spoilers — The Business Body Part

Sonny’s organization isn’t just a stain on Port Charles and the Corinthos name like Michael thinks it is. He has been in operation there for so long that it has become a functioning arm of the city. The police sidestep some of what they know Sonny does, and he has learned through trial and error how to operate around them and not poke the bear. Although many would rejoice in the removal of a drug trade from the Port Chuck ports, it would leave a gaping hole that others would soon seek to fill. That begs the question: Is Sonny Corinthos really the worst that Port Charles could battle?

GH Spoilers – Hint Family Matters

Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) might have to arrest his own father and put him in a holding cell, but there are bigger families with much more damage they could do to Sonny if Michael’s plan works out. The Five Families operate in parallel with one another in Port Charles as a team of frenemies that try to get along for the sake of the bigger picture. When they get word that Sonny has been arrested and a monumental case is about to be presented against him that could leave him behind bars forever, they’re going to smell blood in the water and descend on his territories. That’s where the other part of Sonny’s family comes in — his ex-wife.

General Hospital Spoilers — Mother Knows Best

What Michael doesn’t know can hurt him, and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) knows that all too well. When Sonny went missing after plummeting into the icy waters and washing up in Nixon Falls, Carly was the only suitable option to step in and fill Sonny’s shoes. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) could have done the same, but they really needed both of them to present a united front, and Jason had to keep his attention on the enforcement side of the business. Carly knows how to fill Sonny’s shoes, and no one else does.

Thus, when Michael’s plan to destroy Sonny lands his father in lock-up, he will be shocked to find his mother readily stepping in to hold it down so that no one scoops up Sonny’s territory and rips his organization apart.
