Mike and Sonny are close and when he dies many are fans are expecting Sonny to take an emotional nosedive. He’s already fraying at the edges and the death of his father could send him over a scary ledge.

This is why fans are speculating like crazy that this tragic event could be the reason Brenda finally comes back to town.

Marcil debuted as teenager Brenda Barrett in 1992 and through the years she came and went but not before becoming an all-time fan fave.

Brenda and Sonny are arguably one of the soap opera’s most popular couples, and one of daytime drama’s most recognized. Besides Sonny Brenda was also married to Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Jax and Jason are still on the canvas so a return by Brenda would have half the town swooning.

In 2013 Brenda, who understandably has a contentious relationship with the current Mrs. Corinthos’ Carly (Laura Wright), came back to town and wreaked havoc on her enemy. She pretended to have a one-night stand with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to get back at Carly.

In an attack of conscience, Brenda confessed to Sonny before leaving Port Charles but also invited him to go with her. He declined but kind of left the door open to a reconciliation.

Every so often a rumor is floated about Brenda coming back to Port Chuck. Fans’ hopes get high and in the end nothing comes of the speculation.

But with the epic finale of Mike’s life on the horizon, there is a perfect opportunity to have the lively brunette return for Mike’s funeral and to pay her respects to Sonny.

Of course, it wouldn’t end there! This is pure speculation but the prospect of Brenda’s return can’t be underestimated. Sonny is under siege personally and professionally and Brenda’s reappearance in his life would be a major turning point. Could she be the only one who can help Sonny if his life starts to crumble?

      Sonny and Brenda haven’t been a couple for years. Unless they’ve been in contact behind all of our backs they’ve also had no contact for years so why even bring her up. GH needs to go forward not back! Leave the dead dead, finish up old storylines, use the beloved characters we have now sitting on the back burner before dragging in a lot of old characters we quit caring about years ago and bringing in new people who have no relevance.

      Brenda may return, but not just for a Sonny hookup which definitely doesn’t need to occur. Current story lines that have been on canvas for over a year need to be ended before anything new is added;. Pairings and hookups have their place, but none are needed at this time, as most if not all of the pairings on canvas need fixing in my opinion.

      Please bring Sonny & Brenda back together forever. They are so good for each other. He loved her like no other. They make the show exciting to watch. I watch all the old videos of them together. I could see your ratings going up with them together again. Brenda & Sonny were the best couple on this show. I think you will make a lot of people happy.
