General Hospital – Brenda Barrett Tries To Tell Jasper “Jax” Jacks About Her Addiction To Pain Pills
Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) tries desperately to tell Jasper “Jax”Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) the truth. Brenda is emotionally distraught as she tells him about her addiction to pain pills. She is so ashamed of herself, but Jax reassures her and tells her it’s no problem, and they will fix it together. He does suggest it may be better if she were under a doctor’s care to wean her off the drugs slowly.
She reacts strongly by telling Jax she already talked to Dr. Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) who had told her it would not be a problem – but she knows herself better than that; there’s something wrong. She asks Jax to take the pills and put them someplace she can never find them. Jax then promises her when she feels better, they will fly to New Orleans and get married. Brenda starts to cry and says as long as things are the way they are she can’t marry him, when all she can think of is wanting another pill! She doesn’t feel like she deserves him, but Jax tells her not to worry – he’s not going anywhere. He vows he’s never going to let her go.
GH Spoilers – Ned Ashton (Quartermaine) And Alexis Davis Get To Know Each Other
Ned Ashton (now Ned Quartermaine, played by Wally Kurth) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) have dinner together. They find that they have much in common, especially with both coming from very powerful families. Ned confides in her that he and Katherine Bell (Mary Beth Evans) were married to each other, for about 10 minutes. Alexis had asked about hiring Katherine -he doesn’t go into details but advises her not to hire her. Meanwhile, Miranda Jameson (Leslie Horan), Jax’s ex-girlfriend, shows up at Sonny Cornthos’ (Maurice Benard) under the pretext that she wants to see how he is.
Sonny, of course, doesn’t believe her for a minute. He asks her to have a drink to his health, but she refuses. As she gets ready to leave, they all hear a banging sound in the hallway and Sonny cautions all of them to be quiet. Meanwhile, we see Stefan Cassadine (Stephen Nichols) breaking down Katherine’s door, who happens to live next door to Sonny and rushing to her side. She can’t believe he’s there and asks him how he knew that she needed him. He explains that he had been the one on the phone. He cradles her head and they are staring into each other’s eyes as Sonny, Mike Corbin (then played by Ron Hale, now by Max Gail) and Miranda walk in. They help Katherine get back into her wheelchair.
She informs them the only thing wounded is her pride and then asks everyone to leave. She then introduces Stefan to her neighbors and to her friend Miranda. Stefan and Miranda are uncomfortable but they acknowledge each other. After the men leave, Katherine confirms what Miranda figured out. Stefan is the “friend” she was speaking about. Miranda says it’s obvious that he adores her. But Katherine is quick to notice that Miranda doesn’t approve of Stefan.
General Hospital – Stefan Cassadine Interrupts Ned Ashton And Alexis Davis’ Dinner
Stefan interrupts Ned and Alexis’ dinner, needing to talk to Alexis urgently. Ned says his farewells and tells her he hopes they can do this again real soon. She happily agrees. Once he’s out of earshot Stefan informs Alexis about what just transpired in Katherine’s apartment, and she is very concerned. Stefan thinks he covered up very well and tells her not to worry. But then he asks her to find out whatever she can about someone else who was there; namely, Miranda. Meanwhile, Sonny calls Luke Spencer (Tony Geary). He was right – He found Stefan and Katherine in a clinch that didn’t look at all like a business, which is what Stefan had wanted them all to believe.
