General Hospital Spoilers – The Crossover That Could’ve Been?
It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 years since ABC cancelled All My Children, yet, it seems like the show has never truly left us. There was a short-lived online revival and talk of bringing it back as a primetime drama titled Pine Valley, but the project has stalled in its tracks.
The ABC sudser has always lingered in our thoughts, not to mention, General Hospital has been integrating All My Children into its storylines, mentioning Pine Valley residents.
The soap did manage to bring in Walt Willey to reprise his role as Jackson Montgomery for a few episodes, but other names have also been mentioned.
Back when there were four and more ABC soaps, and even when it was down to three, ABC historically had crossovers of characters between them.
GH Spoilers – Did Someone Say Erica Kane?
Additionally, references to the iconic Erica Kane, portrayed by Susan Lucci, had been scattered throughout the conversation in the Friday, July 26 episode.
We were eagerly anticipating the potential crossover, and then, unexpectedly, Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) assistant, Madison (Virginia Ma), delivered the news that the Enchantment meeting had been called off.
Nina was understandably upset, as a meeting with the formidable Erica Kane is not something to be taken lightly, and it was an important deal for Crimson Magazine.
Interestingly, it was revealed that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), the acting Aurora boss, was responsible for the cancellation – he simply couldn’t wait to speak with Nina.
General Hospital Spoilers – Can Nina Reeves Fix It And Bring Erica Kane To Port Charles?
Michael’s decision-making skills are seriously questionable, although we understand his stress over his mom being arrested which he told Nina-he wanted her help for contacting Congressman Larry McConkey (Sam McMurray).
However, Enchantment and Erica are both major players, so maybe he’s not the best person to be calling the shots and cancelling the interview.
The show got us all excited by mentioning Erica, only to yank that possibility away; with Nina’s ominous warning about Erica’s potential wrath, the chances of a meeting seem slim.
Let’s hope they’re just building up anticipation for when Susan Lucci finally graces General Hospital with her presence.
Otherwise, they’re just toying with our emotions by teasing an epic All My Children crossover and then snatching it away for no good reason.
