Ever since Nathan regained consciousness at GH, the show’s provided some troubling warning signs. This man may have Nathan’s fingerprints and DNA, but there have always been moments when things seemed rather off about him.

In the January 6 episode, fans were given what was perhaps the biggest clue yet that something isn’t right. Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) called Nathan out for a major police gaffe since he broke the chain of evidence.

Nathan left a cigarette butt from a crime scene in his car unattended, so Dante was upset and confused about why he’d be so careless.

Although Nathan tried to act like he was just rusty at his job, there’s no real reason he should be if he’s Nathan and telling the truth. Nathan supposedly awoke feeling like no time had gone by, so he can’t really blame his blunder on his years off the force.

Since Nathan acted odd like he was covering something up, this may be the show’s first step toward revealing he’s not exactly the same Nathan anymore. Viewers could begin to see more hints that Nathan’s not the same guy he was before.

This may be Nathan’s body, but who’s actually in charge of it? Could Nathan have Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) memories and basically be a baddie disguised as a hero now?

Many fans have speculated about that on social media since this Nathan story has to be building somewhere shocking.

The show hasn’t revealed all the details yet when it comes to Nathan’s resurrection, but there’s a good chance he’s keeping a stunning secret or two about his true identity.

Whether Faison is running the show in Nathan’s brain or someone else, Nathan’s outward appearance may be deceiving.

Will “Nathan” make more professional blunders and perhaps some personal ones, too? Will Dante and others in Nathan’s life start to suspect something strange is going on?

Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will awaken in 2026, so it’ll be interesting to see her reaction to Nathan’s survival news when the time comes. Part of Maxie may want to believe her beloved Nathan has come back, but another part of her may hear some alarm bells going off.
