General Hospital Spoilers: Nelle Benson Jerome: Dead Or Alive? Here Is How She Could Have Survived!

ABC General Hospital spoilers tease that things may not be as they appear, and as Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) fears, and Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) could have survived her fall from the; here is how she could have survived!

General Hospital Spoilers – There Could Have Been A Body Of Water Below The Cliff Where Nelle Fell From

First and foremost, and the most likely scenario for Nelle to have survived would be if there were a body of water of some sort below the cliff; as General Hospital viewers should recall from Nelle’s past, she is a very strong swimmer. She won several swimming championships when she lived in Florida, and the fact that she is such a strong swimmer was the main weapon of the district attorney when she was tried for the murder of her fiancé, Zachary Grant (uncast character).

Supposedly, the two were out rafting on rubber rafts, and he sprung a leak and she was unable to save him – a bogus excuse in the eyes of the DA as well as of Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) who was the investigator in the case. Had Nelle not seduced Chase and then reported him to the police force there, getting him fired and making him an unreliable witness in the court’s eyes, she probably would have been convicted and imprisoned the first time around; as it was, she was not convicted of that crime until years later, when she confessed the murder to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).

If there was a body of water below the cliff and she was not unconscious or too physically injured from the force of hitting the water – after all, it has not been revealed how high the cliff was, although it is implied it was too high for her to have survived – since Carly could not see where she landed – it is possible she could have swum to dry land and saved herself.

GH Spoilers – Nelle Benson Could Have Had A Helper – In The Sense That Nikolas Cassadine Had A Helper

It seems apparent that Nelle did not plan to fall from the cliff to her possible death – for once in her life, she was a little bit off her game and did not anticipate having been tracked to the Corinthos cabin by the device she put in Wiley Corinthos’ (Eric and Theodore Olson) stuffed kangaroo. Whether her unwilling husband, Julian Jerome (William DeVry) left it there on purpose or not has not been revealed, although he did reach out to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) in an effort to procure the services of Attorney Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) to divorce Nelle.

It is unlikely that Nelle had a helper in the sense that she could have had help in attempting to fake her death, although Valentin talked to Martin about her disappearance being permanent this time-so we know Valentin didn’t help her. This was after Peter August (Wes Ramsey) sought Valentin’s assistance after he found out Nelle had talked about Peter’s complicity in Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) kidnapping out of Afghanistan, which Peter had gone to great – and in many cases, fatal – lengths to conceal.

However, as in the case of Nikolas Cassadine, (Marcus Coloma) a scenario could have happened in which providing there is a body of water below the cliff or something else that could have broken her fall enough not to kill her, someone could have seen her fall and rescued her and she may be recovering in a hospital somewhere – possibly with her face bruised beyond recognition!

That would be why Nelle has not been discovered in a hospital, although the police have not been so inclined to look for her in the hospital since Carly has not revealed what happened after Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) talked her into covering it up!
