General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) might be hovering on the cusp of a mental breakdown. GH fans know that Nina has apparently been waffling back and forth over whether she will defend Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) and act as a character witness in Nelle’s child custody battle. The reasons for Nina’s waffling however, may betray something wrong in her psyche.

As many GH fans know, Nina’s present signals of instability vis-à-vis Nelle could simply be hints that she never fully regained a sound state of mind after waking from her coma twenty years ago. GH fans may understand that while some people may experience episodes or periods in their lives in which they’re mentally ill, that are there and then gone, others are not so fortunate. Some believe that Nina could be in the latter category. It’s quite possible that Nina’s mental illness is a recurring condition that is triggered by certain events, circumstances, thoughts, or people.

Viewers know that in days of yore, Nina had some major issues. Her loss of a child (due to her horrible mother), and her constant ruminating on what is missing from her life, may have caused Nina irreparable damage.

General Hospital Spoilers & Updates – Nina Shows the Signs

GH fans may have noticed the fact that Nina spends an awful lot of time sitting around in her office, holding her half-locket and staring off into space. More often than not, Nina has unshed tears pooling in her eyes, just waiting to be shed. It’s clear that Nina cannot focus on the work she has at Crimson (Maxie Jones [Kirsten Storms] could testify to that) and the fact that she projects her own feelings, insecurities, needs, and desires onto Nelle show that her thinking is confused.

Nina also shows extreme feelings of guilt on General Hospital. Much of her sadness and longing for her lost daughter have more to do with the fact that she wasn’t there for her child growing up than it does her desire to simply be a mother. GH fans can tell this is true by the fact that Nina has had the opportunity to truly be happy and act as a mother to Valentin’s daughter, Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez). However, Nina instead obsesses about a daughter she may never see in this life.

Moreover, Nina’s mood swings wildly (perhaps not as much as it once did) and she goes from laughing and having a great time with her lover, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), to again crying and pining. GH viewers may agree that all these are signs of an unstable mind and that Nina may need help.

General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Needs an Intervention On ABC Soap

GH fans might agree that watching Nina succumb to her fantasies about how Nelle “must” feel has been painful all on its own. Seeing Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jax both try to reason with Nina to no avail has also been like hearing someone draw their nails down a chalk board. Nina’s attitude has been annoying in the extreme to many viewers of late.

That makes total sense because most GH fans are normal people who can clearly see right from wrong. Most GH fans can discern the truth from a lie.

Nina, unfortunately, doesn’t seem able to do any of these things and it may be time for those who care for her to suggest that she at least set up an appointment with a mental health professional at the earliest opportunity.

Because, many GH fans will agree, something with Nina clearly is out of kilte
