General Hospital spoilers tease Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is finding it difficult to tolerate her beau, Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard), relationship with his ex-wife, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). The more time that passes, the more Nina starts to see glimpses of the man everyone warned her not to get involved with.
Sonny is not Mike, they would say. Nina is starting to understand what they meant, and it’s the last thing she wants to pay attention to. Instead, she will focus her effort on removing the part of the equation she thinks is making her the most unhappy — Carly.
General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny Corinthos Isn’t the Man Nina Fell In Love With
When Nina was spending time with “Mike” in Nixon Falls, the charming parts of Sonny were present while his flaws and worst behavior patterns were left in the past — one he didn’t remember. Nina didn’t have to see those parts of him, and she fooled herself into thinking she loved the other parts enough that she could ignore them.
That was working fairly well until Sonny was nearly taken out by a sniper in a warehouse last week. Now, new security measures are in place that require him to keep a safe distance from her and essentially put a pause on their relationship. Nina isn’t so sure she’s down with this part of Sonny, especially given that he doesn’t seem to keep Carly at the same safe distance.
GH Spoilers – Leak She Still Doesn’t Want Carly Spencer To Have Him
Nina isn’t necessarily sure this is the man she’s in love with. She may be in love with an idea of a conglomerate of Sonny that leaves out the parts she doesn’t like. Perhaps that is why she didn’t want to know anything about his business dealings. But Carly did. Carly knew most of what Sonny was up to and often does now.
Her relationship with his colleagues and associates is cemented. She’s not going anywhere, and Nina cannot stand that even though Carly and Sonny aren’t together anymore, Carly is closer to his inner circle than she is. Nina might not want this relationship with Sonny anymore, but that doesn’t mean she’s willing to see him float back in Carly’s direction.
General Hospital Spoilers — Nina Reeves Pulls The Trigger, Starting With Jord
Before this relationship can possibly fall apart, Nina is going to do her part to see to it that Carly isn’t accessible to Sonny, and vice versa. She knows if she walks away from Sonny, he won’t be lonely long. That’s not his strong suit, whereas Mike could’ve handled it. Sonny requires pretty constant company, and Carly is the most comfortable and familiar kind.
Nina is heading in Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) direction now with a very narrowly tailored purpose — to put Carly behind bars for insider trading. Jordan might swear to Nina that she’ll never reveal her source — but that doesn’t mean Dante Falconeri (Domninic Zamprogna) won’t when he finds out. Stay tuned for more General Hospital news and spoilers to find out how this pans out for everyone involved.
