General Hospital spoilers tease Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has had one goal since she came back from Nixon Falls: grab hold of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and don’t let him get away. As much as she tried to deny her feelings for him in the beginning, she couldn’t resist falling for him all over again, but this time as Sonny instead of ‘Mike.’

Sonny felt much the same, and he tried to bury how he felt about Nina, but he was too curious to find out where their relationship could lead, and ultimately it spelled the end of his marriage to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) — for the fourth time. Nina’s concern that Sonny might not be over his ex-wife isn’t unfounded or rooted in paranoia, but in history. Thus, it would only make sense she tries to get to the bottom of it before she gets hurt.

When Nina saw Carly tip-toe into Brick’s (Stephen A. Smith) hotel room at the Metro Court, she pretended to be mildly interested in keeping it to herself, but she shared enough with Sonny that he wouldn’t relent on asking questions. When she revealed what she saw — and that she overheard Brick flirting with Carly and saying he would always be there for her — Sonny immediately grew concerned.
This is everything Nina has feared her entire relationship with Sonny. He excused himself from his dinner date with Nina to address Brick right away and ask what was going on with him and Carly. Brick assured Sonny there was nothing more than friendship between them, and he conceded and accepted that response.

Nina was a bit stunned that Sonny blindly believed Brick, but he’s known him a long time and loyalty is everything to Sonny. If Brick says nothing is going on, nothing is going on. Sonny is comfortable taking Brick at his word. That being said, Nina pressed Sonny on the issue, asking him how he would feel if Carly was seeing someone he knew — because she knows Carly is now involved with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). Sonny was quick to move on from the topic now that he knew Carly wasn’t interested in Brick in that way. As much as Nina wanted to continue discussing it, he wasn’t going to have it.

Still, Brick and Drew are two different stories. Sonny shares a lot more history and loyalty with Brick than he does with Drew, but he trusts Drew. He wouldn’t expect Drew to chase after his ex-wife any more than he would have expected his late best friend Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to have done so in his presumed wake.
Nina is dying to know what Sonny would really feel about seeing Carly move on with another man — especially one he’s come to call a friend, but Sonny isn’t ready to entertain what he thinks is a hypothetical conversation that would only upset him.
