General Hospital Spoilers: Portia’s Missing Alibi Willow’s Way Out Of This Mess — Or Alexis’?

General Hospital spoilers remind us that we weren’t really shown what Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) did to get Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) out of jail on bail.

We also aren’t entirely clear as to why the PCPD detectives combed over the case again and decided to direct their attention to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) instead.

Recall that when Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) first pulled Curtis into her office asking for his whereabouts on the night Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) was shot, he said he went to Alexis’ house before heading to The Savoy, where no one could corroborate his alibi, and then meeting up with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) later.

Also recall that Alexis told Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) that they would have to serve as her alibi because she was with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) while he was chained up in the basement. That tracks…if it’s true.

A Tale of Two Alibis

Detective Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) put pressure on Curtis to amend his alibi if he sees fit, but Curtis dug his heels in and stuck with his original story. Opening up to Jordan afterward was hardly necessary, but we doubt she’s going to blow the whistle on him.

Still, if Curtis is intending to protect Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) by shielding her from the discussion about his engagements on that fateful night, he’s got another thing coming.

Portia doesn’t need Curtis’ protection nearly as much as he has assumed. Will he go out on the limb for her and be left there to wither on the vine?

If he does, Alexis ends up casting a light on two potential suspects who aren’t her client, but more importantly, neither of them are herself.

Alexis Staged the Perfect Crime

Drew more or less forced Alexis to represent Willow — a twist she wasn’t expecting and now has to handle with care if she wants to keep seeing her granddaughter.

But if it was Alexis who shot Drew, she must’ve thought this out rather well to know she would be able to lean on Kristina and Ava being too compromised to not give her an alibi.

Ric had no idea when he was telling Alexis what he had learned about Portia’s compromising situation with Drew that she had been using Ric’s compromising situation with her as her cover story.

Of course, Ric lost all concept of time in that basement and was under the influence of drugs; he would never corroborate that Alexis was actually with him at the time of Drew being shot. Alexis knows that, and also knows Ric is incentivized to keep quiet about the entire ordeal.

Off the Hook?

Something still tells us Alexis is going to get away with this, even if it means it gets blamed on someone else and they are sent to prison for years while Alexis runs free. They could be Willow, or it could be Curtis, Portia, or someone else.

Of course, Portia has an alibi, but she doesn’t want to share it. Still, she’s probably not going to be hauled off to a cell over it. Regardless, Alexis hasn’t seemed the slightest bit bothered by anyone else going down for this crime.

So she either didn’t do it, or she’s bent on getting away with it just like she got away with what she did to Ric. Will he find out that he’s her alibi and let the truth out just to sink Alexis?
