On “General Hospital,” Monday’s episode was a shocker for many especially the fans. Marcus Taggert, who was portrayed by Real Andrews, was killed off from the show. The character took a bullet as he made himself a decoy for Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla), who was being targeted by hitmen. With the alter ego dead, Andrews took to Instagram to say a few words about his departure.
General Hospital Spoilers – Marcus Taggert’s Last Moments on General Hospital
Taggert, who long time viewers know as Sonny’s longtime crime-fighting enemy, was last seen back in 2003. He returned to Port Charles earlier this year and recently found out that he has a daughter, Trina. After he got shot trying to save Trina, it seemed like he was going to survive. He asked Trina to get some candy but later on, Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) announced his death.
GH Spoilers – Real Andrews Comments On His Exit
Following his death on the small screen, Andrews opened up about the departure of his character that has been an icon in the sudser for more than twenty years.
“RIP Taggert. Thanks, everyone for all your support I appreciate you all it was a great run and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity,” Andrews said in an Instagram post.
“Although I appreciate your support more than you know I am great Gods got me. It’s Diamond [the actor’s dog] I am worried about when she heard the news about her Daddy being dead she went into a depression so pray for her please,” he continued.
“It has been an honor and privilege working with Maurice, Steve, Sidney, Brianna, Dawnell’s and Genie,” Andrews added.
“Thank you to Frank, the producers, and Writers for the opportunity. Thanks to Mark Techsner for always believing in me and thanks to all the crew and staff for making my stay an amazing one. God Bless,” he said.

General Hospital Spoilers – Fans Hope For A Twist
Many viewers weren’t happy with the latest development and many of them are hoping that there’s a twist to Taggert’s death with some suggesting that he may have faked his death.
One fan said, “@realandrews Ok I like REALLY need to know Taggert is not dead..& I am dead serious about this, he can’t be!”
Fans have to stay tuned to find out if Taggert is alive after all. Who knows? Anything can happen in the soap world.

I do not think he is really dead. He just posted on social media that he will be joining some cast members for a GH fan event in Long Island. When is the last time they allowed a dead character to go? There you have it. You heard it from me, first. He is not dead! YaY!

Well, Andrews didn’t technically say he wasn’t coming back, so… I’ll say this, given the overwhelmingly positive reaction to Taggert coming back the writers would be foolish to kill him off now and miss the opportunity to have him work with Sonny and Jason to bring Renault down. The three of them have so much chemistry… All we got so far was one little ‘Anger Boy’ and that wasn’t nearly enough. And by the way ‘Nics’ – Taggert didn’t JUST discover he had a daughter. He’s known all along – offscreen. Get your shit right.
