General Hospital Spoilers: Ric and Sonny Unite for a Dramatic Takedown — Sidwell Is Doomed

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is issuing threats, armed with evidence that could ruin Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). However, there are suspicions that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and his brother will join forces to eliminate Port Charles’s most notorious villain.

Sidwell Framed Laura And Sonny For Dalton’s Murder, And Now He’s Blackmailing Them

Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is blackmailing Laura Spencer (Genie Francis); he has pictures of her and Sonny with the deceased Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard) and is now making outrageous demands. It’s clear that Sidwell holds the advantage, but this may not last long.

Ever since we discovered Dalton’s body in Laura’s trunk, we anticipated trouble, and it arrived at her doorstep while Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) was occupied with a patient.

Jenz Sidwell entered Laura’s apartment holding a photo of her looking at dead Dalton in her trunk; Laura attempted to argue that it could be photoshopped, but her defense faltered when Sidwell revealed a second photo.

This one featured her, Sonny, and dead Dalton, resembling a dreadful selfie-Sidwell then mocked Laura, claiming that her involving Sonny was a real gift for him.

Sidwell Stated His Demands With Which Laura Must Comply

Sidwell made it clear that Laura is expected to do everything he instructs. If Laura agrees to Sidwell’s demands, the PCPD will not obtain the photos, which means both she and Sonny can remain alive and out of jail.

Shortly after, the unscrupulous Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) showed up, and Sidwell stated that Ezra would be their liaison.

Laura then offered to resign as mayor and let Ezra take the reins. However, Sidwell responded that the voters prefer her over Ezra. This is the course of action they will take.

Sidwell’s Sick Leverage Over Laura

At that moment, things got worse when little Ace Cassadine (Karis & Kieran Barry) started crying-Sidwell thought, now he has something to use against Laura.

He said, “Everyone has a price, and now I know yours!” Laura was upset and sobbing when the villains left; she realizes she must follow Sidwell’s orders, especially since her adopted child/grandchild, Ace, is on Sidwell’s radar.

Laura also wants to protect Sonny; she told Kevin about Sidwell’s demands, but before Laura can warn Sonny, Sidwell  beat her to it. By the end of the week, Sidwell was at Sonny’s house, saying he has enough evidence to take both him and Laura down.

Sidwell Must Be Taken Down!

So, we’ve witnessed Sonny attempting to adopt a more diplomatic strategy towards Sidwell,  to prevent the streets of Port Charles from being stained with the bloodshed of a mob war. However, it seems that this option might no longer be viable.

It seems that Sidwell is the individual responsible for the penthouse explosion, and this situation has been brewing for quite some time.

While Sonny is generally a fairly benevolent mob boss, Sidwell, on the other hand, poses a significant threat. Therefore, we suspect that Sonny will ultimately have no choice but to eliminate Sidwell.

Sonny And Ric-A Sidwell Takedown Team?

Sonny might enlist his brother Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to assist him. Alternatively, Sonny could confide in Ric to explore legal options for himself and Laura, leading Ric to offer his help in confronting Sidwell. Currently, Sonny and Ric are in a positive place.

They’ve reconciled and are getting along well. This is significant because, despite being biological half-brothers, Sonny and Ric have been adversaries for many years; it’s refreshing to see them united and cooperating.

Rick Hearst Is Glad Ric And Sonny Have Made Peace

Actor Rick Hearst expressed his excitement about Sonny and Ric finally mending their relationship and putting their differences aside. He particularly enjoyed the scene where Ric tells Sonny that their closeness is what their mother, Adela Corinthos (Iris Almario), would have wanted.

 It’s easy to imagine Sonny deciding to trust Ric to join forces against Sidwell, who poses a threat.

Ric will most likely be on board with this plan, knowing how dangerous Sidwell is. While he may not be the most courageous in a physical confrontation, Sonny knows that Ric excels in the courtroom.

Jason Morgan Will Tag Team With Ric And Sonny Against Sidwell

Clearly, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will be lending a hand as well. However, he seems to be somewhat preoccupied with his issues concerning Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) at the moment, particularly since her health seems to be deteriorating. Jason is taken aback when Britt collapses this week.

Additionally, even though Ric and Sonny are on good terms, it’s well-known that Jason and Ric have never seen eye to eye.

Ric was perpetually envious of the bond between Jason and Sonny, which resembled brotherhood far more than his own relationship with Sonny ever did.

Ric And Jason Can Set Aside Their Differences To Defeat Their Common Foe

Ric and Jason can set aside their differences and adopt the mindset that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, allowing them to collaborate in eliminating Sidwell one way or another.

Furthermore, as Jason investigates further into Britt’s situation and the reasons behind her stress, he will realize that stopping Sidwell is crucial for Britt’s well-being.

Thus, Jason will have a personal stake in ensuring Britt is distanced from the dangerous Sidwell. It’s looking more and more likely that Britt might soon break down and reveal to Jason exactly what is happening with Sidwell.

Britt Might Open Up To Jason About Sidwell Supplying Her Medicine

Britt might inform Jason about how Sidwell manages the medication doses that are keeping her Huntington’s disease in check. And she might confess that Sidwell threatened her before killing Dalton right in front of her as a warning.

Later, when Sonny briefs Jason on Sidwell’s actions regarding Laura and the photos he possesses, Jason could reveal what he learned from Britt.

Subsequently, Jason, Ric, and Sonny can collaborate to bring down Sidwell. It’s quite the dream team, if you think about it.

Ric The Lawyer, Jason The Muscle, And Sonny The Protector

Ric is capable of managing legal issues, filing injunctions, and challenging Sidwell’s businesses in court, while Jason can provide the muscle and collaborate with Britt on the laboratory aspect.

Sonny will oversee the protection of Laura and himself, leveraging the piers and his mob connections to confront Sidwell’s illicit business interests.

Clearly, this operation must be a covert one, as Sidwell has explicitly warned Sonny and Laura that he will report them to the authorities if they do not comply with his demands.

Sonny will need to continue protecting Laura after Kevin eventually leaves again, since Jon Lindstrom has difficulty managing two soaps on two opposite coasts!
