General Hospital Spoilers: Robert Isn’t Clearing Anna’s Name — But Why?

General Hospital spoilers reveals Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) has been working tirelessly to free Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) since the moment she was arrested for shooting Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).

Her friends rallied around to support her when she was being held by the PCPD, as well as when she needed help busting out before she could be moved to Pentonville — where she likely would’ve been killed as a judge ordered she would receive no protection, even as a member of law enforcement.

While all of Anna’s loved ones know there is no way she’s guilty of what Victor’s convenient drone footage appears to show her doing to Lucy, Robert knows for certain she isn’t guilty — because he knows Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) is! Is Robert refraining from clearing Anna’s name just to protect Holly?

General Hospital Spoilers — Anna DeVane Is Protected, But Holly Webber Isn’t

Robert has a bit of wiggle room because he knows Anna is safe right now. Even though time is of the essence, he knows he can buy a little time by keeping the PCPD and WSB pointed toward the ongoing investigation into Victor’s involvement with Holly. While that’s going to turn a light on Holly, everyone thinks she’s being treated for severe burns on 75 percent of her body right now and as such, she is not available for questioning.

In reality, Holly is leaving Port Charles to free her son, Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons). Thus, it makes sense that Robert would want to give Holly some time to get out of dodge before anyone else in law enforcement becomes aware of what she’s done. In the meantime, he trusts Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) are making sure Anna stays safe.

GH Spoilers – Tease Victor Cassadine Is Still A Free Man

It’s also not wise to turn the tables on the investigation yet because Victor is still roaming free. Robert doesn’t want to blow the lid on what Victor has been up to until he has all the evidence he needs to make sure Victor goes away for a very long time.

If he speaks up too soon, he runs the risk of not only giving Victor a heads up and allowing him to avoid arrest, but he also runs the risk of Victor realizing Holly spilled the beans to Robert. That would likely not end well for Ethan. So Robert needs to give Holly time to save Ethan first.

General Hospital Spoilers — He May Be Looking for Another Angle

It’s also possible Robert doesn’t want to be forced to choose between his two ex-wives, so he’s continuing to look for a way he can exonerate Anna without throwing Holly under the bus. Is it possible that he could put Victor away while not even mentioning Holly’s involvement? Probably not.
