General Hospital Spoilers: Ryan Goes On Life Support! Will Someone Pull The Plug? If So, Who?

General Hospital spoilers tease that Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) life could still be in danger after a life-saving kidney was harvested from him to save Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) life in Friday’s General Hospital.
GH Spoilers: Kevin Chamberlain Takes His Brother Ryan’s Place
General Hospital viewers saw that a suspected switcheroo did indeed happen and after Ryan had the seizure, Kevin took his place in the hospital bed and signed the kidney donation papers in Ryan’s place after “Auntie Stella” Henry’s (Vernee Watson) fire and brimstone sermon seemed to scare the kidney out of him, so to speak, even though he snarkily remarked that he just was signing it so she would shut up!
Kudos to Kevin – he did a remarkable job of impersonating his twin for a change instead of the other way around! However, when Ryan suffered the seizure he was afraid – very afraid – of death, and he could have been of fire as well, having survived that funhouse explosion years ago!
General Hospital Spoilers: Ryan Chamberlain Doesn’t Wake Up After Surgery
However, there was the issue of what would Ryan do when he woke up and saw the telltale scar in the lower part of the front of his stomach and wonder what happened! Of course, he could have always been told that he had another seizure and his appendix ruptured or something like that and they had to do emergency surgery; with the advent of laparoscopic surgery, huge ugly scars are a thing of the past and they could have taken the kidney on the side where the appendix is.
However, Ryan never came to; and the medical diagnosis for his coma was that it was “an unintended consequence of the surgery”. Ryan was taken directly to Pentonville, in restraints keeping his arms tied to the gurney, and with an IV trailing beside him, but didn’t appear to be on life support.
GH Spoilers: Will Ryan Need Life Support
So what happened to Ryan in the operating room at GH, and will this coma cause Ryan to need life support? It is highly likely that the sedative that Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) administered to Ryan while he was conscious and in the midst of the seizure was not to calm him down, but to knock him out, and it is quite possible that Ryan was put not under sedation in the operating room, but into a medically induced coma.
The substance Finn gave him could have even caused a medically induced coma. A medically induced coma reduces brain activity and metabolism, and is usually done on patients with traumatic brain injuries to allow the injuries to heal.
Induced comas are rarely allowed to continue beyond a few weeks, although in Ryan’s case the substance used would have to not interfere with the kidneys or be metabolized through them, and it’s possible that if he is not brought out of the coma while in Pentonville’s infirmary that he could be put on life support – unless Kevin signed a Do Not Resuscitate order, or DNR as part of the kidney donation forms.

General Hospital Spoilers: Ryan Chamberlain Will Live As Long As Someone Doesn’t Pull The Plug
Then life support would not be an issue and no one would have to pull the plug! If someone did, it would have to be someone with medical privileges at Pentonville’s infirmary!
If Ryan was put into a medically induced coma and the kidney donations forms were attached to a DNR, then if he’s never brought out of the coma, he’ll just die in the prison infirmary and his case(s) may never even come to trial! But, in a strangely humane way, Ryan will never have to fear death either…he’ll just die.

love Ryan & Shiloh gone. Learning the baby is Jonah not Wiley.
I would love to see Ryan and Shiloh gone for good and Michael to get his son back
I think that Ava would still like to see Ryan dead. What was Franco doung with the gloves that he was taking off when he was talking to Cam? I thought that he was the one that put the medicine in Ryan’s iv. He was in the group at the end that pulled off the brilliant kidney caper. That was the best result l’ve seen on GH in a long time. I hope that Ryan is not ever resurrected again. I hope Shiloh’s exit is just as satisfying.
Ryan needs to die so does Shiloh Jason and sonny should take Shiloh out. That way the story can continue Michael needs to get his son back and have some time with that Neil needs to get killed also so that can end and Michael can have a life with Willow and live happily ever after.
