There are instances when it’s a permanent takeover while other situations require a temporary fill-in. Sofia Mattson currently plays Sasha Gilmore in the ABC soap. Not only is Sasha getting a new face, but it’s also from someone Sofia knows extremely well.

General Hospital Spoilers – Sofia Mattsson Temporarily Exits

GH spoilers reveal that Sasha just went through a harrowing storyline. Sasha and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) were excited about the birth of their baby. However, there were complications. Even though Sasha’s life was saved, the baby was not so lucky. Sasha and Brando were forced to pull the plug after it was determined that Liam Corbin was brain-dead.

We haven’t seen too much of Sasha since then besides an occasional yoga scene with other characters. On Thursday, February 17, Brando will go looking for Sasha and finds her at the Metro Court. However, Sasha’s face might look a bit different.

GH Spoilers – Sasha Gilmore Recast

It is confirmed that Sofia had to take a temporary exit. Don’t worry, it’s only for a few episodes. The reason isn’t explained and there is no word on when the recast happens. However, there are clues based on an Instagram post.

General Hospital Spoilers – How Long Is The Change?

General Hospital spoilers reveal that two weeks ago, Sofia’s sister posed beside a GH photo of the soap star. Helena Mattsson confirmed that she was excited to be filling in for her sister.

“Such a blast jumping in on my sister’s show for the day.”

Considering Helena posted this two weeks ago and we are finally going to see a scene with Sasha on Thursday, there’s a possibility that we will see the change this week. This might also be why nobody knew about the temporary recast until now.

Helena wasn’t chosen to fill in for Sofia just because they look alike. Helena is an actress, too. She has been in The Rookie, Paper Empire, Tacoma FD, Magnum PI, His Deadly Affair, American Horror Story and Mistresses. Helena was also cast in Fargo, Betrayal, Breakout Kings, The Mentalist, Desperate Housewives and NCIS: Los Angeles. Sofia recently announced that she has become an American citizen. The actress was extremely excited about it and expressed her gratitude. It’s possible that her temporary exit was due to her having to appear to take an oath, something that everyone is required to do when citizenship is approved.
