General Hospital Spoilers: Scott Leans On First Love Laura, Death Of His Stepmother Gail Devastates HimGeneral Hospital spoilers tease that Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) will deliver some very sad news to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) very soon. It’s been a little over a year since his father, Lee Baldwin (Peter Hansen) passed away, and now his stepmother, Gail Baldwin (Susan Brown) has passed away also. A tribute episode to the actress and her character Gail Baldwin will be broadcast on January 3rd.

The death of his stepmother hits Scott hard, as mirrors Kin Shriner’s own real life experiences when Peter Hansen and Susan Brown passed away in real life. He will lean on his first love, Laura, in his grief and express his concerns about the home that he remembers growing up in, and even the lawn furniture he remembers! Perhaps Gail passed away so unexpectedly she didn’t have time to prepare a will and that’s why he’s concerned, but that doesn’t mean he’s concerned for any financial reasons; probate can be rough, but GH spoilers indicate Scott’s concerns are sentimental.

Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) who was also involved with Scotty off and on throughout the years, and good friends in real life with Kin, will also appear on this episode. She is also the surrogate mother to Serena Baldwin (Carly Schroeder). Lucy will probably offer her support to him as well, in his time of grief. Scott was very close to Gail, and could always talk to her as if she were his real mother.

It’s a sad coincidence that the two actors who portrayed Lee and Gail, and were married on the show for 37 years, died so close together…almost as if they’d been married in real life!       Gail Baldwin was a delightful and beloved character. May peace be with all of her family and friends. I’m sure she was as wonderful in real life as she was a truly genuine character on set.

      Oh yes, I remember Gail! She was a wonderful person! I think it very fitting that Scott would go to Laura. If we can’t have the once in a lifetime love, of Luke and Laura, the second best would be Scott and Laura! Looking forward to these episodes !

      Yes, that’s when GH was so great! It was enjoyable seeing the rerun on Mon! The stories were really good and things actually moved along. Miss those days and that GH!
