General Hospital Spoilers: Sean Blakemore Back As Shawn Butler

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and comings and goings reveal Sean Blakemore is coming back to Port Charles, New York as Shawn Butler.

He was in the role from 2011-15 and reprised it in 2016. GH spoilers and comings and goings show Shawn was written out when he went to Pentonville for shooting Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) but he was not guilty.

He is Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) ex and father to her son TJ Ashford (Tahj Bellow).

General Hospital Comings And Goings – Sean Blakemore Returns

According to General Hospital comings and goings, Shawn debuted in 2011 on a recurring basis and a few months later was put on contract. Then 2015, it was announced that Blakemore had taped his last scenes as Shawn and fans last saw him when he was visited by Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in April 2016.  Blakemore was also on Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless.

Shawn debuted on General Hospital when he comforted Molly Lansing (Hayley Pullos) who is a fellow posttraumatic stress disorder survivor.

But Shawn is working for a bad guy and he is there to kidnap Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) before her wedding. Later Sam McCall and Jason Morgan convince him to help bring down his evil boss.  Ironically he later teams with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to take down Julian Jerome (William deVry).

Along the way Jordan informed Shawn that he is TJ’s real father. In 2015 the character pled guilty to shooting Hayden Barnes and was sent to prison; later Hayden visited Shawn in prison to talk about who really shot her.

General Hospital spoilers – What Happens Next In Port Charles, New York?

The return of such a vibrant and connected General Hospital character brings out all sorts of plot possibilities. Right now Jordan is estranged from her husband and has another man living with her but that doesn’t mean she won’t welcome Shawn on some level.

Plus, TJ is now a committed man to Molly and has tons to catch up on with his dad. Maybe Molly and Shawn will reminisce about the old days, too?

Other than the announcement of his GH soap opera return, there are no details regarding the reason for the character returning. Maybe he has served his time, maybe he was exonerated? And maybe he will be the one to find Smike?

General Hospital spoilers show Sonny aka Mike is away from home and needs to come back at some point. Maybe Shawn will bring him back?
