General Hospital spoilers and updates for the week of Tuesday, January 3 – Friday, January 6 tease the New Year brings murder investigations, shocking revelations and scary encounters! Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has a string of murder investigations, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) has a shocking revelation, and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) has a very scary encounter.

General Hospital Spoilers: New Year’s Celebrations

While chaos and murder is happening back home in Port Charles, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) get away from it all.

They have a romantic New Year’s Eve celebration out of town and Drew proposes a toast to their present and future. As they clink the champagne glasses, Drew says to Carly, “Celebrating New Year’s-you and me”.

They are blissfully happy in their own little world, oblivious to the tragedies they will be returning to in the real world back home. By the time they return, tragic news will spread through Port Charles.

GH Spoilers: Murder Investigations

Dante talks to someone outside the questioning area in the Port Charles Police Department, telling him they’ve got a string of murders to solve, and he needs answers! From the back, it kind of looks like former Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) but unless they’ve really sped up his reinstatement to the PCPD it’s probably someone else.

Dante is obviously talking about the killings perpetrated by The Hook, who as of that point is suspected to be Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) but not proven to be. And pretty soon, Dante and Port Charles Police Commissioner Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) will be headed down to the docks to investigate the latest Hook murder.

General Hospital Spoilers: Shocking Revelations

As Elizabeth arrives at Wyndemere to give Esmé her prenatal care, she’s shocked to not find her there and her room obviously having fire and smoke damage. She’s on the phone as Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) interrupts, with a dazed look on his face. He’s still in shock and frantic after witnessing Esmé, approximately six months pregnant with his child, dive off the parapet of the turret of the north tower of the castle.

Esmé had set her Christmas tree on fire as a diversion, but found no way of escape from the castle as Nikolas put the fire out. Nikolas confides he searched, but couldn’t find any trace of her – she won’t see how Esmé and the baby possibly survived.

GH Spoilers: Laura Collins Pays Ava Cassadine A Visit

At the Jerome Art Gallery, a frightened Laura Collins (Genie Francis) pays Ava Cassadine (Maura West) a visit. She wants to know exactly what Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) has on her son. Laura had talked to Nikolas at Wyndemere earlier, as Esmé was planning her ill-fated escape, and tried to convince him to help take Victor down. Nikolas had responded that if she takes Victor down, he’d go down with him, and Laura tried to offer him a clean slate but he’d refused.

General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Reeves Gets Bad News

It’s obvious as Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) talks with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) at his office in the back of Pozzulo’s that she has gotten some bad news on the phone. She grabs Sonny’s arm as she has a horrified look on her face, and exclaims “no!” and rushes out. Tragic news is spreading through Port Charles and it looks like Nina is one of those who hears it first, her aunt Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) possibly calling.

Nina’s cousin Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) had just had her big birthday bash but left early, waiting on the docks for a boat and on her way to a secret life. She hadn’t wanted anyone to witness her decline and deterioration due to Huntington’s Disease, no one knowing her plans except Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Selina Wu (Lydia Look).

GH Spoilers: Scary Encounters

Josslyn cowers on the docks, as The Hook attacks again, and comes to strike at her. It’s difficult to tell whether Josslyn, who is kneeling, has found a victim and is trying to render aid or if she’s under attack and trying to get away. She is definitely terrified as The Hook swings her gaffing hook down towards Josslyn, is she ready for a kill or trying to kill a witness? It almost looks like the tip of the hook is already bloody, but that could be the snake venom.
