General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that there may be an explanation for the unusual behavior exhibited by Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) in recent months.
Could it be that Drew is dealing with a brain tumor or some other medical condition that accounts for the significant shifts in his character?
It Wouldn’t Be The First Time A Brain Tumor Was Responsible For A Character’s Bad Behavior
This wouldn’t be the first instance of a soap opera using a brain tumor to justify a character’s drastic change in behavior.
If Drew’s actions become even more erratic, potentially leading him to attempt harm against someone, it could set the stage for a significant revelation regarding his health.
Even if Drew isn’t dealing with a brain tumor, there might be another medical reason behind his behavior—perhaps even scar tissue from that brain chip could explain it.
This narrative aligns with his backstory, as his son with Kim Nero (Tamara Braun), Oscar Nero (Garren Lake Stitt), tragically passed away from a brain tumor.
His foster brother Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) faced his own battles with two brain tumors; the removal of the first altered his personality, while the second was inoperable.
Could Drew Have Suffered A Brain Injury In Prison?
Some fans speculate that Drew might be suffering from a brain injury stemming from his time in prison. This theory aligns with the transformation of his twin, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who became emotionally detached as “Stone Cold” after his own traumatic brain injury, only to later regain his feelings.
However, it’s also plausible that Drew is grappling with another health issue that is causing his unusual behavior; GH might have an unexpected diagnosis in store.
This could clarify Drew’s dark shift and the unsettling actions he has taken-it has always seemed illogical to lead Drew down such a grim path, but perhaps there’s a deeper explanation.
If there is a medical reason waiting to be revealed behind his actions, it could mean that Drew’s behavior is beyond his control.
Drew Could Receive Treatment And The Character Could Then Be Redeemed
This could open the door for Drew to receive the necessary treatment and potentially return to his former self, depending on how events unfold.
There have been subtle hints in the dialogue suggesting that Drew might be facing a dire situation, but he is still alive! This means there’s an opportunity to reverse the damage done to Drew and guide him back onto a more positive path.
The series still has the potential to redeem Drew and keep him in the storyline—especially if his recent behavior stems from a brain issue or another treatable medical condition.
Nevertheless, Drew has been racking up enemies and making poor choices lately, so it will be intriguing to see what lies ahead for him.

Even though Franco had a brain tumor he was never really accepted due to his past deeds 100%, plus he was not a member of a legendary family. Elizabeth was his savior and really helped keep him on the straight and narrow until writers just abruptly decided to kill the character off. In fact, I feel Franco was the best pairing Elizabeth has had. Don’t feel Drew should be given this excuse just because writers made a mistake with the Drew/Willow story line, or the whole Drew being Jason’s twin brother. Sure Jason could have had a long lost brother, but it didn’t need to have been a brain washed twin. If Drew is given a resurrection, from being totally unacceptable, allow him to leave PC for a period of time and get himself
together..
Give up this tired old storyline. A. he can’t be redeemed B. We all want him the hell outta there asap. Don’t prolong our agony any longer.
Even though A brain tumor may be cause of Crew’s erratic behavior, I still think he wad never a good fit for GH. Kill him off and get on with it
Oh please! Redeemed or not, I’ll still despise him. His ego and smarmy, superior attitude was in place long before he started all this other crap. If they want to redeem someone, it should be Willow. It would make sense for her to have some kind of complications from her cancer and meds, or better yet, an alternate personalty. Or maybe Nelle has her locked up somewhere and took over (with a mask or plastic surgery) to make everyone hate Willow as much as they did her. Almost everyone loved Willow and respected her, and Nelle resented that. It would give her time with Wiley, or give her an opening to pop back in as Nelle and sue for custody. Heck, maybe she even planted the bomb at Sonny’s. Yeah, it’s a stretch, but it’s GH, so, anything can happen. I’d much rather see her redeemed and back with Michael, than Drew running around like Captain America thinking he’s the smartest and best guy in town. He’s so jealous of Jason he can’t see straight! Send him away! Out of town or six feet under, doesn’t matter, just as long as he’s GONE!
I love the idea of the Nelle story . it makes sense. It was so odd to see Willow’s personality change in this way to disregard for her, loving husband and family and hero a worship of true. Now would’ve been very jealous of Willow and would love to have done this to her yes, I bet that I hope you’re right. I would hate to see and make it through with the problem because if he turns out to be a good guy after all, Willow is still going to want bbe with him more than ever . He would have to turn his back on her and tell her it’s not right because she’s married. I can’t wait to see if you are right. Anyhow, let’s wrap the story up and get Swamy Drew out of the way somehow.
Sorry I sent out that comment before I vproofread my typos. . I will fix them if possible after my post is approved. Thank you . Bottom line is I hope the previous post is correct about Nelle holding Willow hostage etc
Sorry for my typos above I did not I send before I proofread.
So… the biggest twist would be that that’s not Drew… its Shiloh somehow… and Drew is still alive somewhere being held captive still… or Drew actually died in that plane crash and Shiloh was the one being held captive on that island. Idk but it’s the only logical way to redeem Drew. Shiloh was obsessed with Willow… Drew would have never looked at his nephew’s wife in that way ♀️
Not another brain tumor story!!
That only goes so far.
“Power corrupts”.
While Drew doesn’t have absolute power…he’s a total jerk.
No brain tumor needed. He’s just a vile person.
