General Hospital Spoilers: Shocking Twist – Ronnie Is Monica’s Sister, Yet Every Letter Was a Lie!

General Hospital spoilers reveal Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Bard (Erika Slezak) is Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) real-life sister.

Separated into foster care as children, they reconnected earlier this year and have been playing penpal ever since, up until Monica’s surprise death.

Not having the chance to connect in person or even by phone all year, fans are suspicious that not all is as it seems with Ronnie’s story, and many are jumping to the conclusion that Ronnie is running some kind of con.

After all, she did just score quite the windfall in Monica’s will, inheriting practically the entire Quartermaine estate.

While Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) is brimming with fury, the rest of the family appears to be welcoming Ronnie with open arms, unafraid that she could kick them out on their rears at any moment.

A True Sisterhood

Ronnie told a good story about her childhood years with Monica, and the separation that led them down very different paths in life, raised by two different families, states apart.

But it sounds like they came together in the end and made peace with their shared trauma while blending memories with stories of where their lives had led them, and how much they adored being in each others’ lives to whatever extent possible.

But why didn’t it ever manifest beyond more than letters back and forth? Why not ever hop on the phone to hear one another’s voices, or share the news with family? Could it be because both of them were being played?

GH Spoilers Say Someone Was Running Interference

After Drew was exiled from Monica’s life and the Quartermaine property, it’s possible that he took the initiative to reach out to Ronnie while pretending to be Monica. If that’s the case, that means he may have been the one intercepting her mail.

Likewise, he may have been drafting his own version of replies from Ronnie, too, for all we know. Could it be that Drew was playing a sick game of twisted emotions with his mother and Ronnie all this time — or at least with Ronnie, if Monica knew nothing about it?

Could Monica Have Been Clueless?

Some fans are also wondering if it’s possible that Drew staged all of this — including his mother’s role in it. Could the letters written to and from Ronnie have occurred without any of Monica’s participation?

Obviously. So is it possible that she wasn’t even receiving doctored letters from Drew, but cut out of this equation entirely?

It’s not likely, because it appears Monica did go to Edward Quartermaine’s (John Ingle) attorney and had her will redrafted to remove Drew from it and name Ronnie as benefactor of the mansion and its grounds.

So, for now, we think Monica believed she truly was developing a new relationship with her long-lost sister, and in some ways she was.

But with every letter received potentially being doctored, and every letter sent out much the same, it stands to reason that fans are suspicious of what is really going on with Ronnie.

Let’s not lose sight of the theory that something nefarious may be going on not with her but all around her. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.

I hope its just something Martin cooked up and drew was writing the letters and intersecting them and that ronnie really is a sister to monica. And Martin smuged the will cause like ronnie.I hope drew is to blame and ronnie had no clue.I would hate to see monica look bad that is no way to remember such a beautiful actor as monica.I hope Michael gets the property but ronnie gets to stay and learn about monica and how great she was

Even if Monica was in touch with Ronnie, I think she may have given her a cash stipend, but not the whole estate. There is no way she would cut the family out.

That is what I said needed to happen. I believe Martin set it all up. I don’t think they ever connected with Monica’s attorney . I still say though that Tracy is the one Monica left the house to. Tracy was the sister of her heart, not of birth.
