General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Corinthos Shows His Softer Side

General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Corinthos Shows His Softer SideGeneral Hospital spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will be supportive to someone this week on General Hospital, and that is likely to be Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) when she arrives at the Nurses’ Ball! Joss will need all the emotional support she can get from everyone she can get when she arrives without Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Lake Stitt) with whom she was supposed to perform a song the two had started writing together before his death, and which Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) helped him finish at his request.

Joss’s stepfather Sonny, her half-brother Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), her birth father Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and of course her mother, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) are all at the Ball, so she will have plenty of love all around her, and plenty of support! It will be hard on Joss because of the constant reminder that Oscar is no longer around to perform their song together as they’d planned (or at least she had) but she will more than likely be okay as she gets into it.

Many longtime General Hospital viewers have compared the love story of Oscar and Josslyn to that of Stone Cates (Michael Sutton) and Robin Scorpio, now Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough), who Robin lost her virginity to and contracted HIV, whereas Stone developed full-blown AIDS and died.

Ironically, the Nurses’ Ball was started by Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) as a fundraiser for HIV and AIDS awareness and research in 1994, but because of Robin and Stone’s story in 1996 Robin became more associated with it, and the Nurses’ Ball “poster child” in many viewers’ minds. General Hospital fans will undoubtedly draw even more comparisons between the two pairs of star-crossed lovers, Robin and Stone, and Josslyn and Oscar, now that Oscar has passed away.

The Nurses’ Ball ran consecutively from 1994 through 2001 every year, until a lack of funding caused a gap until it was revived in 2013, partly due to the efforts of the late General Hospital nurse Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo). It has been running consecutively again every year since 2013. Stay tuned to General Hospital and keep checking General Hospital spoilers frequently for all the latest news, updates, and developments!
