General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos To The Rescue, But Will He Be In Over His Head?
It’s interesting how Ava and Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) relationship has changed over the years. It seems that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has finally been able to bridge a gap where they are concerned, and in many ways, they aren’t only co-parents, they are kind of friends.
Jerome *almost* confided in Sonny about Nikolas during the March 7th episode; however, she found herself pulling back. Austin questioned her motives around confiding in the mob boss, and she revealed that Sonny does have the power to help protect anyone, in any situation.
Considering Nik threatened Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola), Sonny would likely come to Ava and, subsequently, Austin’s aid. But in doing so, could Corinthos finally meet his mobster match?

The missing piece to this puzzle is Austin’s family and whom Mason exactly works for. What kind of wealth does this family have and how much power and control do they possess? If Sonny swoops in for the save, he might realize a major player behind Mason.
There are not many that can go toe-to-toe with Corinthos, so his ego will be at play, as well. If he threatens Mason, and Gatlin retaliates, a mob war Sonny is not prepared for could be unleashed.
