General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny Lets Nina Peek Into His Business

General Hospital spoilers tease Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) have had a rather difficult start to their relationship. Given its fragile state in the beginning, they both agreed it was best to keep things as casual and easygoing as possible.

There was enough drama in the mix with the court proceedings regarding visitation with Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), as well as Sonny’s divorce from Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). Now that the dust has settled and they’re getting more comfortable with one another, Sonny is ready to introduce Nina to the world of darkness he dabbles in. Will she be welcomed with open arms?

General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny Corinthos Isn’t Mike

When Nina and Sonny first fell in love on General Hospital, they were both living in an illusion. ‘Mike’ was nothing more than a kind-hearted bartender with no past, which meant no baggage. His whole world began with Nina. There was no ex-wife to deal with, nor any children to argue over with said exes. Everything was easy, but life in Port Charles has anything but that. Sonny is a complex man with a past that has harmed a lot of people — including those he loves the most.

Sonny and Nina are now paying for his missteps in treating her favorably when he returned from Nixon Falls, and it’s put a strain on their relationship as they attempt to figure out what love looks like for Sonny and Nina, following up the perfection that was Mike and Nina. One facet of Sonny’s life that is far different is how he makes a living. The humble man that mopped the bar floor is gone, and Sonny’s income stream stems from a much darker place that Nina has yet to really explore.

When Sonny and Nina started to rekindle their romance back in Port Charles, he did try to make it clear to her that the guy she knew in Nixon Falls was no more. Nina admittedly accepted that but thought there was more ‘Mike’ in Sonny than he realized. When Sonny tried to talk to her about the inner workings of his organized crime business, she said she preferred not to know.

That’s where things have stayed ever since. Nina is removed from Sonny’s business — which is much different than what we’re used to seeing with him and his lovers, especially his four-time wife, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). Will bringing Nina into his inner circle make her feel like she is somehow equal with her rival in his eyes and that Sonny is truly ready to move forward with her?

When Sonny decides to introduce Nina to Brick, this marks a new milestone in their relationship. The more Sonny opens up and lets Nina into his inner circle, the more she seems to get comfortable with letting him get to know every facet of who she is, too. The problem is, Sonny might not like the other side of Nina.

While Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) might have had specific complaints about her, Sonny took those with a grain of salt, considering the source. However, it gave him pause when T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow) also implied Nina had less-than-honorable intentions with sowing doubt between Sonny and Michael. Still, he’s giving her the benefit of the doubt. But when Brick steps forward with his own concerns about Nina, will Sonny finally consider that he might be looking at her with rose-colored glasses?
