General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has no intention of accepting defeat. There are some risky factors in play when it comes to Sonny’s feud with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), but he’s counting on a secret weapon to help him gain the upper hand.
In the March 26 episode, Sonny acknowledged that Sidwell would underestimate him without Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in the picture. Sidwell’s going to view Jason’s exit as a major blow to Sonny’s organization, but Sonny thinks he can make that work in his favor.
That’s because Sonny has a fresh tactic in mind involving Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst). Sonny has big plans to team up with Ric on a double takedown scheme to sink Cullum and Sidwell.
Sonny Acknowledged That Sidwell Would Underestimate Him
Of course, GH fans know Jason and Ric are two VERY different people, which means they have very “different ways of doing things” according to Sonny. After Sonny acknowledged that, he insisted he needed Ric’s way to help him go up against Sidwell and Cullum.
In other words, Ric is replacing Jason – at least on some level. Sonny is going to make Ric his right-hand man and the one he leans on, but there are multiple paths to disaster here.
Ric obviously isn’t a hitman and can’t fulfill the same type of role that Jason is leaving behind. Jason could protect Sonny physically in a way that Ric can’t, so Sonny really needs to hire someone to step in Jason’s old position, too.
Sonny wants to use the fact that Sidwell thinks he’s vulnerable, but he can’t put his own safety or the safety of his family at risk.
Jason was willing to walk into the line of fire and put his life at stake for Sonny. Ric is more of a schemer who brings brainpower to the table.
Who Can Handle More Dangerous Duties?
Even if Sonny does hire someone who can handle more dangerous duties, Ric is still going to be like Jason in a sense that Sonny will turn to him above all others.
Sonny is trusting Ric with his secrets and making him a key player in the fight against two of his most powerful enemies. That’s a lot of pressure to put on Ric when his mended relationship with Sonny is still so new.
It’s easy to see that Ric has changed and that he wants to be a real brother to Sonny, but he could still let him down.
Sidwell and Cullum are bad news, so they could catch on sooner or later and blackmail Ric using Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) as leverage. Would Ric turn traitor to save Molly’s life?
Whatever the case, Ric and Sonny shook on their partnership, so they’re in this together for better or for worse!
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny and Ric may have some curveballs in their future, so don’t miss what’s ahead. Be sure to make us your favorite GH hotspot for all the exciting General Hospital spoilers and news you’re looking for.
