General Hospital Spoilers: Spencer Doesn’t Look Like Spencer! Alum Shocks Fans With Updated Photo!

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that actor Nicholas Chavez had huge shoes to fill when he was recast in the role of Spencer Cassadine in 2021. That’s because fans had grown very attached to actor Nicolas J Bechtel in the role, who played the character from 2013 to 2020.

For whatever reason, the soap decided to recast the part, and fans have come to love Chavez.

Still, this week Bechtel uploaded an updated photo of himself on the social media platform X, and fans could barely recognize the young actor, who’s all grown up!

General Hospital Spoilers – Former Castmate Chimed In

At the age of 19, Bechtel looks like a completely different person than the little Spencer fans have been accustomed to seeing.

Former GHer, Kristen Alderson (Kiki Jerome) commented on Nicolas’s updated X profile picture, noting, “Can’t believe how grown-up you are! Time freakin’ flies! Amazing picture! Hope you are doing great.”

Other fans chimed in with Kristen’s sentiments, adding to everyone’s amazement at how much Nicolas has grown since viewers last saw him.

It has been four years, and a lot can happen during this time. After all, the last time audiences saw Bechtel, he was a kid, and now he’s officially an adult!

GH Spoilers – Nicolas Cassadine Bechtel’s Acting Career

In addition to his Spencer Cassadine role on GH, Nicolas also starred in the Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle comedy, along with Jenna Ortega, and played Rob Kardashian in The People V.

O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. In 2016, Bechtel was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Actor category and was last seen onscreen in 2021, with a guest spot on American Horror Stories.

Seeing Nicolas all grown up begs the question … could he ever return to GH? The role of Spencer is on hiatus right now, as Port Charles presumes, he’s dead, but really, it’s just because the current actor in the role, Nicholas Chavez, is filming the Netflix series, Monster.

If Chavez decides to step away from daytime drama, could Nicolas return to the Spence role?
