General Hospital spoilers reveals Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) might secretly be longing for the day he can hold Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) in his arms again, but he would never want it to come at the expense of Maxie suffering a broken heart.

He doesn’t want to see her get hurt. In fact, he might even jump through a few hoops to try and make sure she isn’t harmed by Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth), who has his own agenda. Still, now that Spinelli is mixed up in Maxie and Austin’s romance, their days as a couple are numbered.

However, Maxie has always been there for Spinelli, and they’ve seen each other through some incredibly tough times — not just as co-parents, but as friends. What Maxie doesn’t know is that her friend Spinelli ran both their personal data through his algorithm and found out they are as close to a perfect match as it produces. What are the odds?

Ironically, Austin has been curious about the exact same thing. He wants to know how well he and Maxie look together on paper. Are they more compatible than he thinks he is, or possibly less so?

What is the upside for Austin either way? He already has Maxie, and she’s happy enough. What if the algorithm said they were a good match? Would he want to tell her, or would he be afraid she would resent him for digging into the meat of their relationship that way without first consulting her? It doesn’t seem like there is an advantage to knowing, so why is Austin harping on it?

When Maxie does find out that Austin wanted Spinelli to snoop around their relationship in this way, she’s not going to take kindly to it. Maxie has been fairly happy with Austin until recently. His behavior has been a bit erratic and he seems to have constant excuses for why he can’t spend time with her anymore.

Maxie doesn’t need an algorithm to tell her what the writing on the wall says, but it will speak volumes to her that Austin went behind her back. Spinelli’s involvement might spell the end for this couple, but can it possibly kickstart anything between himself and Maxie when he’s just as guilty as Austin is?
