Since Chavez moved on to bigger and better things, it seems that Trina has been in limbo. Why have the GH writers not giving Trina a new storyline?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Trina Robinson Has Now Become Back Burner
Now that Spencer is gone and Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) also presumed dead, Trina has been moved to back burner.
The writers haven’t chosen to put Trina with anyone new and so she is stuck in a literal rut mourning Spencer while the world moves on around her. Is Trina destined to mourn for the rest of her life?
Trina has so many interests before Spencer disappeared and now she doesn’t do a lot of anything. When will Trina decide it is time to move on?
Will Trina be stuck in limbo until Spencer is either recast or Chavez returns? Why are the writers not allowing Trina to stop grieving and at least have some better interactions with some new people?

Y&R Spoilers – Tabyana Ali Was Maurice Benard’s Guest On State Of Mind
Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) asked Tabyana what was up with Trina, was she just in limbo? Ali thought about her reply before saying, Trina is in a gray zone at the moment. Trina is observing everyone else’s relationships.
She feels that Trina is in the process of coming out of her grieving. Ali goes on to say that you don’t get over your soulmate’s death in a short amount of time.
Trina has decided to go back to college and try to move on with her life. Ali believes this whole time has been about Spencer and Trina’s grieving.
She wants to figure out where she goes from here and what comes next in her life. How is Trina supposed to be okay with moving on without her soulmate and the person she thought she was meant to be with.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Should GH Recast Spencer Cassadine?
Perhaps Trina’s next steps should be for General Hospital to recast Spencer and give Trina her soulmate back. Chavez admitted that he would understand if Spencer had to be recast because of his absence.
Will Sprina live on some day even if Spencer turns out to be someone new? Can GH executives find anyone to match the chemistry that these two had?
There is no reason to keep Trina in limbo when they have no idea if Spencer will be recast or not. Trina needs to get on with her life and forget about Spencer.
If Spencer comes back, fine, if not then Trina should not be acting like she died with him. Will Trina finally start to work toward her future instead of staying stuck in the past?

I believe the problem with Trina being placed on the back burner (as many characters are from time to time) is she didn’t have much substantial interaction with characters other than Spencer and Joss. In real life, NC moved on from GH and that left Trina being in a blind spot with no story line. Perhaps writers will create a story line for the character in the near future.
Quite frankly Trina has grieved enough! My goodness move on. Spencer ain’t coming back! Chavez has no intention of coming back as long as he can make it without GH! Let Trina love again with the handsome charming Gio! They are a very sexy couple! Forget Spencer! I mean to say eventually the role needs to be recast… but don’t be in such a hurry to do it! There is a Chavez look a like out there somewhere that can act their way out a paper bag. But please GH explore the Gio Trina love story! They could be the next big thing, especially since he is Sonny’s son! By the time Spencer returns Trina could be in deep love with Gio! Imagine the horror you have a new love and the dead love of your life returns! Chavez should be recast eventually.. he was not the first Spencer. Nor should he be the last!
