After a major death occurred on General Hospital, fans are not convinced about the character who actually died, believing it must be a fake death.

This week kicked off with a major death on General Hospital and fans aren’t convinced about the character that allegedly died. Looking back on an interview with the actor playing the role, along with some general theories, fans should not be worried as their fan-favorite character simply cannot be dead.

General Hospital Spoilers – Is Marcus Taggert’s character dead?

Réal Andrews returned to General Hospital in his original role as Marcus Taggert after 17 years away from the soap. However, despite only recently returning, his character got shot after he saved his daughter, Trina Robinson (Brook Kerr) and her friend Cameron Webber (William Lipton). Both teens had been kidnapped by Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) goons, as part of his vendetta in Port Charles against Taggert and Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine).

Taggert was shot while saving Trina and Cameron and in Monday’s episode he underwent surgery. Later in the episode, he allegedly dies from a blood clot. However, fans are not convinced that he has gone so soon after returning to the soap, even though he asks his rival, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to care for Trina.

He can’t be dead after such a short appearance on General Hospital

The thing is, Taggert didn’t return to Port Charles for such a short stay and he’s likely back on the show for a longer time than this.

Soap Opera Digest recently interviewed Réal Andrews about his role in General Hospital and he spoke at length about his future in Port Charles. He said he was personally thrilled to be back, but also thrilled by the response from his fans to the news.

GH – Fan theories on Marcu Taggert’s fake death

Many fans have aired their thoughts on the subject, coming up with ideas about why Taggert is really alive. Some say Sonny is involved in the situation to help Marcus fake his own death. One fan wrote Taggert is with Curtis, Jordan, and Laura in safe custody, possibly with Sonny and Jason protecting him.

The fan continued by saying there is no way General Hospital is so dumb as to bring a major character back, just to kill him off again. They say possibly Liz and Epiphany are also involved as both nurses have done this sort of thing for people before.

Others tweeted saying if Taggert is dead, General Hospital made a really bad move. One wrote: “You better hope his death was faked,” saying they didn’t get @realandrews back for him to immediately leave the soap again.

Needless to say, fans will have to continue watching General Hospital find out the truth on ABC weekdays.
