General Hospital Spoilers: Tamara Braun OUT at GH? Kim Nero Leaving Port Charles?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers have some news to pass on about a possible departure from the show. Daytime Confidential is reporting that Tamara Braun, who portrays Dr. Kim Nero on the ABC soap, may have left the show.

Sources have told Daytime Confidential that Tamara has finished taping at General Hospital and that for the time being, the role will not be recast. Tamara has portrayed Dr. Kim Nero on GH since 2017, and she previously portrayed Carly Corinthos from 2001-2005 and again in 2014.

Kim Nero’s Major Storylines

Kim was involved in a major storyline this past year, as her teenaged son Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt) had terminal brain cancer. Kim and Oscar’s father Drew Cain (Billy Miller) wanted Oscar to receive experimental treatment to try to prolong his life, but Oscar did not want the treatment. That led to a near legal battle where Oscar attempted to emancipate from his parents. He finally succumbed to cancer this past summer.

Kim has been really struggling emotionally since Oscar’s death. She’s never gotten used to the idea of not having a child to care for, and this led her to try to have another baby very soon after Oscar’s death. She asked Julian Jerome (William deVry) to father her child, then nearly got Drew to father her child when she drugged him one evening aboard The Haunted Star. After the Drew incident, she sought therapy to help her with her grief.

Now, Kim is embroiled in a huge and precedent-setting legal case involving what constitutes a person’s identity. She is supporting Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), who has Drew’s pre-2012 memories and who she considers to be Drew. She and Franco (as Drew) recently rekindled their romance and she ended her relationship with Julian.

Of course, on the other side of the debate (and the case) is Franco’s wife, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and his father Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner). They believe that Franco is still Franco and that his personality and memories are still lodged somewhere in his brain. They feel that he should receive a “memory reversal” procedure to try to rid him of Drew’s memories and bring their beloved Franco back.

Does Tamara Braun’s Departure Indicate How Future Storylines Will Play Out?

If indeed Tamara Braun is on her way out at General Hospital, she’ll have a big storyline to go out on, as the drama over Franco/Drew will be heating up very soon. Could her departure be an indication of how the case will play out, perhaps with Elizabeth and Scott winning the battle and getting the memory reversal procedure done on Franco?

Time will tell, but since the Daytime Confidential report indicates that Tamara will not be replaced in the role, that suggests that Kim’s storylines could wrap up and that Franco may soon no longer consider himself to be “Drew.” GH spoilers don’t readily indicate how that storyline will play out, but if Tamara is soon out at the show, then the romantic interest for Franco/Drew will be gone.
