General Hospital Spoilers: Thanks To The SEC Fine, Will Sonny Buy The Lakehouse To Ensure Carly Stays Put?

General Hospital spoilers suggest Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has just found out she has to pay a $5 million fine to skirt charges from the SEC. Suddenly, a three-year stint in Pentonville seems less costly.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) delivered the news and Carly was just beside herself with grief. How is she possibly going to afford to pay this lump sum and still be able to live her life and take care of her kids? 

This is going to leave her in a serious financial predicament, and she’s not about to let Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) bail her out of it by selling Aurora Media as he suggested. But who can Carly turn to for this kind of favor?

When Carly and Sonny divorced, he felt like she got a pretty raw deal. She didn’t want anything from him but the family home. He was happy to part ways with it, knowing that she would likely have Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) there more than he would anyway.

But Carly’s home on the lake is an expensive piece of real estate, and selling it could afford her to pay off her debt without having to sacrifice her savings. So when Sonny offers to buy the place, allowing Carly to continue to stay there and pay him rent, it’ll seem like a fair deal.

GH Spoilers – Say Diane Miller Won’t Like This

Diane isn’t going to like this exchange of money between Carly and her ex-husband. She already told Carly that Sonny cannot pay off the debt for her or it will tie strings to him that the feds could come after him for.

Still, Carly will seem convinced that it’s just a simple real estate transaction and won’t be looked at the same way. Diane could advise otherwise, nothing the court isn’t going to like Sonny and Carly messing around and trying to dupe them.

Meanwhile, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) won’t be happy with his change of circumstances either. Having Carly indebted to Sonny and renting from him will be laughable after she already took her business from her, but she would much rather see Carly in dire financial straits.

She won’t voice her opinion on how it makes her feel to have Sonny bailing Carly out, but it won’t feel great. Once again, the mob boss will hide behind the excuse that Carly is nothing more to him than his child’s mother.
