    General Hospital Spoilers: The Anticipation Builds—Is Brandon Barash Returning As Johnny Zacchara?General Hospital spoilers and updates tease the anticipation builds as fans wonder if Brandon Barash is returning as Johnny Zacchara. After years have passed, soap opera enthusiasts are fervently urging ABC to reintroduce the actor, nearly ten years since he left the show-is there a chance it could actually happen?

    Brandon Was Unexpectedly Fired From Days Of Our Lives

    Brandon Barash made his entrance into the world of soap operas in 2007, stepping into the role of Johnny Zacchara on GH, representing the latest chapter of the notorious Zacchara mob family.

    His character was written out in 2013, but Barash made several returns to GH before ultimately departing for good in 2016 when Johnny was sentenced to prison.

    Following his time at GH, Barash took on the role of Stefan DiMera in Days of Our Lives, succeeding Tyler Christopher, who had previously portrayed Nikolas Cassadine on GH.

    In a surprising twist, Barash also embodied Stefan’s twin brother, Jake DiMera. In October 2024, he dropped the bombshell that he was leaving DOOL after being unexpectedly let go, igniting a fervent desire among GH fans for his return!

    Fans Are Begging For Johnny Zacchara’s Return

    The soap  has been struggling with its ratings recently; could the comeback of Johnny Zacchara provide the much-needed lift? It’s a possibility; one passionate soap fan took to Reddit, urging ABC to snatch up Brandon Barash before another network does.

    CBS might consider him for one of their soaps, especially considering Ron Carlivati is writing for “Beyond The Gates”.  The fan proposed that Barash could reprise his role as Johnny Zacchara or a new Cassadine;  “How about we trade some unpopular characters  to bring Johnny Z back?”

    I need a bad boy to cheer for- I can totally see him reuniting with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins)  or starting something new.

    Fans Continued Their Ideas For Brandon

    The fan continued,  perhaps with Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos);” and  pointed out that Barash maintains a good relationship with his ex-wife Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones ).

    Many fans of GH are excited about the possibility of Brandon Barash returning to the show, whether as Johnny or a new character-one fan expressed, “I want Johnny Z back! Unpopular opinion, but I’ve always secretly hoped he’d have an affair with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).

    If Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) exits, I’d love to see them together, but only if JJ is gone.”  Another fan commented, “I’m not sure there’s a storyline for Johnny Zaccharra right now- I’d prefer to see Dillon Quartermaine (most recently Robert Palmer Watkins) make a comeback.”

        Lulu needs a new persona before getting a love interest in my opinion. I wouldn’t wish her on any male character at this time.

        That would be awesome!! He and Lulu were together for a while back when Julie B. played her. I’d love to see them reunite, with the current Lulu. She needs someone not as boring as Dante, and I don’t see sparks with Cody either.

        YES YES YES! TO Johnny Z returning!. Absolutely NOT to a Johnny and
        Lulu pairing! I wouldn’t even wish her on Drew! I never really cared for Lulu but I could tolerate her. Since she came out of the coma, I’ve just been praying something or someone would put her right back into one, but for all eternity this time! …….. But kuddo’s to the casting dept, they couldn’t have found a more obnoxious,irritating actress to play the part.

        I wouldn’t mind bringing back Johnny Z for Lulu. GH is testing couples chemistry right now. They might put Brook Lynn and Dante together, or Chase and Willow. I wouldn’t wish Willow on anyone but Drew but so many people hate Drew that he might head back to prison or the cemetery. I can’t keep up with everyone but I just think the whole Gio storyline is going to break a lot of people. They might bring back Dillon Quartermaine for Lulu.

        Dillon would be a good addition to GH. He has history at GH. And we all know he doesn’t have anything going on over at Bold and Beautiful…
