General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Sonny Corinthos has been donning a bit of a darker ‘do lately, and some fans have taken notice. One GH viewer recently complained about it on the social media platform X, stating that they believed Sonny’s hair looked too dark; suggesting that the mob boss looked better with a little gray.

The fan also pointed out that Sonny’s son, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has allowed some gray to come through, so why would his father dye his hair?

The viewer tagged Maurice Benard in the tweet, so it’s not overly surprising that the actor ended up replying with a bit of an explanation.

GH spoilers imply that Sonny is spiraling, and he is diving into a darker version of himself. As such, it would make sense that producers would want Benard to dye his hair; adds to the “presentation” of the character.

Back to the X fan who tweeted about Sonny’s hair, Maurice replied back stating, “Sometimes when I dye it’s too much, so I guess it’s my fault they want it dark I want it gray.”

So clearly, Benard agrees with the fan, but the show wants him to dye his hair. The viewer who tweeted Maurice thanked him for his reply and complimented him on how handsome he looked when he went gray.
