General Hospital Spoilers: The High Stakes Of Carly’s Kidnapping – Sidwell’s Power Play Against Sonny?

General Hospital spoilers and updates indicate that Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) might kidnap Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to gain leverage over Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)- let’s discuss this. The preview video for General Hospital for the week of December 1-5 suggests that Carly will be attacked from behind at night in her home by an unknown assailant.

Sidwell Has Carly Kidnapped?

In the promo, she’s seen holding a weapon of opportunity and fighting back after being ambushed, but it’s likely that whoever is behind this surprise attack will manage to knock her out.

Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) voice is heard in the background exclaiming, “Oh my God,” indicating that he will arrive too late to save Carly. He will show up after the attack, and it seems the person targeting Carly is not just there to harm her – they intend to kidnap her.

Carly’s moment in the GH promo is brief, so it’s quite possible she gets chloroformed and taken away. But who would commit such a terrible act-this has Sidwell’s signature all over it!

Sidwell And Sonny Are In A Power Struggle

Currently, Sidwell and Sonny are in a fierce power struggle, and with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) winning the Port Charles mayoral election, Sonny may have won that battle. However, Sidwell is strategizing to win the overall war.

Not to mention that Sidwell’s plan to frame Laura for the death of PCU Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton (Daniel Goddard) has failed, so he needs to come up with a backup strategy.  He wants to gain the advantage over the mob boss, so this is where the idea of attacking Carly and kidnapping her comes in.

Although Sonny and Carly are no longer together, everyone is aware that they remain very close; they have children together and a connection that most former spouses can’t compare to.

Sonny Would Go Crazy If Carly Were Kidnapped

Sidwell understands that Sonny would go crazy if Carly were to disappear; he also realizes that this would bring Sonny to his breaking point. Carly’s safe return could serve as the perfect bargaining tool for Sidwell to finally get the piers that Sonny has been unwilling to part with.

This could be Sidwell’s hidden advantage; however, kidnapping Carly would create significant complications for him and his son, Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo).

After all, Marco is in a relationship with Carly’s brother, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), and Carly has warned Lucas about the risks associated with Sidwell.

In fact, his relationship with Marco has created tension between the siblings, and Carly strongly opposed Lucas moving into Wyndemere recently.

Things Could Get Very Messy Between Lucas And Marco If It Came Out Sidwell’s Behind Carly’s Kidnapping

The situation between Lucas and Marco could become extremely complicated if it were to come to light that Sidwell was the one responsible for Carly’s disappearance.

According to spoilers from General Hospital, the abduction of Carly by Sidwell might be a pivotal event that ultimately leads to the downfall of the terrorist.

After all, kidnapping Sonny’s former partner is bound to infuriate the mob boss. Plus,  it will also drive WSB chief Brennan to go to any lengths necessary to locate his beloved, return her safely, and ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice.
