General Hospital Spoilers: The Truth Behind Drew’s Shooting–A Setup To Frame Michael?

General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that while the PCPD searches for suspects in Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting, there’s a theory he orchestrated the whole thing to frame Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).

It may sound crazy, especially since Drew fought for his life after being shot twice in the back, but the evidence points to this possibility, so let’s discuss it.

Drew Immediately Focused On Blaming Michael

Firstly, when Drew regained consciousness post-shooting, his immediate focus was on blaming Michael for the attack; he showed little interest in identifying the actual shooter, which is unusual for a victim.

Drew despises Michael and realizes that if Michael were imprisoned for the shooting, he could win back Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and secure custody of their kids. Anyone in their right mind would seek to uncover their assailant, making Drew’s fixation on implicating Michael puzzling.

Moreover, fans recall that Michael was at Drew’s home the night of the shooting but left quickly. Could the ruthless congressman have lured his nephew to his house to set him up?

For some reason, Michael left the situation, possibly sensing a setup and quickly escaping! Since Drew’s shooting, Michael has been incredibly mysterious, leading GH viewers to suspect he was behind the two shots. But maybe there’s a bigger twist than fans anticipate.

It feels like Michael has been one step ahead throughout this ordeal; does he think Drew tried to frame him? If Michael goes to the police with his suspicions, it would be self-sabotage, so he might just be flipping the script on Drew.

Drew Also Dismissed The Idea Of Willow Being The Shooter

Additionally, Drew dismissed the notion that Willow could have shot him, likely due to his blind affection for the nurse.

Yet, he seemed less worried about Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) being the ones to pull the trigger. It’s as if Drew knows who shot him-but how could that be unless he was involved?

Drew’s Acting Pretty Hinky About This All-Did He Set Up His Own Shooting?

Jordan’s repeated comments hint at something regarding Drew and his shooting-he’s not wrong; Drew nearly lost his life, so you’d think he’d value a second chance.

The idea of Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) being an orphan should have pushed him to prioritize his daughter, but it hasn’t; he seems unconcerned about his safety or hers.

Why isn’t he digging deeper into this; this raises a question- did Drew orchestrate his own shooting- would he go that far to take down Michael? He was saved at GH, but perhaps he had a medical backup plan in case things went wrong-in daytime drama, anything is possible.

Ultimately, Drew appears to know more than he reveals, especially given his behavior after the shooting-or maybe he actually saw who shot him, despite the scene suggesting otherwise.

Drew May Even Know Willow Was His Shooter

He might be aware that Willow was responsible for the act, and given his intense obsession with her, he has managed to suppress his feelings of resentment.

And this,  all in the hopes of regaining control over her and their relationship. This has led him to devise a scheme to blame his shooting on Michael.

According to General Hospital spoilers, the peak of this storyline appears to be imminent. So, regardless of whether Drew orchestrated his own shooting or not, it is highly probable that the true perpetrator will be unveiled on the ABC soap in the near future!
