General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, January 2 – Sonny Freaks Over Carly’s Confession – Laura Tries To Persuade Charlotte – Nina Gets Shocking News

General Hospital spoilers for Thursday, January 2, tease that the action’s really heating up on the ABC soap. But before we get to that, we have a quick programming note. GH will air an encore episode on Tuesday, December 31st, and the show will be preempted for sports programming on Wednesday, January 1st. So the next new episode that GH viewers will see will be on Thursday, January 2nd, and we’ve got the scoop about what will happen right here.

General Hospital Spoilers – Carly Corinthos Thinks It’s Time To Come Clean

First off, it looks like Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) are in for a big showdown. As GH viewers know, Sonny has just learned from his associate named “Gio” that Carly was meeting with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) down at the pier. Gio didn’t hear anything about Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) being alive, but he was able to report back to Sonny that Carly was pretty torn up about the secret she and Jax are keeping.

Of course, as GH viewers know, Carly knows that Nikolas is alive and well, and she has strongly urged Jax to go to the police and let them know that Nikolas is back and that he was the one who stole his credit card to rent the getaway vehicle to help Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) escape. Of course, Carly wants the Nikolas secret to come out for Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) sake as well.

But mostly, Carly wants the secret to be revealed so that the tension between herself and Sonny can be resolved. She hasn’t wanted to keep something from Sonny, and it certainly sounds like she’s going to spill the beans to him. GH spoilers for Thursday say that Carly will be insistent about something, so she might just come out and tell Sonny about Jax’s involvement with Nikolas, and his ultimate plan to take down Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).

General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos Is Furious With Carly Corinthos

Other GH spoilers say that Sonny will feel betrayed, although it’s hard to imagine him feeling like the secret about Nikolas was a betrayal, unless he takes issue with Carly keeping such an explosive secret from him with Jax of all people. Carly will probably explain that she was afraid to tell him about the secret because of the possibility that he’d have Jax deported, and Sonny might be irked that protecting Jax is more important to her than coming clean with him.

Other General Hospital spoilers say that Laura will try to persuade Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) about something. This will likely concern the secret bodyguard that Charlotte is claiming to have had. As GH viewers know, she never had a secret bodyguard – it was simply Nikolas who was telling Charlotte that he was a bodyguard hired by Valentin.

General Hospital Spoilers – Will Valentin Cassadine Confront Laura Collins?

Well, it seems that Valentin may confront Laura about what he’s just heard from Charlotte – that Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) had a photo of the bodyguard on her phone and that Laura seemed to recognize him. Right now, Valentin hasn’t put it all together, and he’s thinking that perhaps Lulu and/or Laura have hired someone of their own, so it looks like he’ll probably blast Laura for this on Thursday’s episode.

If that happens, then Laura might spill the beans about Charlotte having identified Nikolas’ photo to Valentin. And with that information, Valentin might put everything together and realize that Nikolas could be alive. We’ll see what happens here, but it certainly seems like there’s about to be some serious movement on this storyline.

General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Reeves Gets Shocking News

We should also note that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will likely open the DNA test results on Thursday’s episode. She’s just received the envelope containing the results of the re-test that she had run on the hair sample she received from Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) that belonged to her mother, Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills). If the DNA test results come back the same as they were before, then that will mean that Valentin definitely rigged the original test.

It looks like GH viewers will see Nina absolutely devastated as the results come back the same, yet she’ll probably still feel torn about whether to go through with what she’s got planned for the wedding. GH viewers aren’t privy to what Nina and Ava Jerome (Maura West) have planned for the wedding, but it’s likely to be explosive and designed to do maximum damage to Valentin.

But will their big plans for the wedding ever come to fruition? Given the recent GH weekly previews, it looks like Nikolas will make himself known, or perhaps someone else will reveal him, at the wedding, so things may not go quite as Nina and Ava have planned. At any rate, it should be an exciting reveal no matter how it happens.
