General Hospital – Meant To Be For Valentin Cassadine And Anna DeVane
The two characters go way back to their early WSB days when Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was clearly in love with Anna (Finola Hughes) but was fooled by her twin sister, Alex, into thinking Anna actually slept with him. (It was Alex.) Valentin held onto those feelings for Anna for years while Anna moved on and barely remembered Valentin.
But, when she did remember Valentin, she remembered he was on the side of good and not the bad guy he portrayed himself as. She stayed away from him for a while, but eventually, he became her confidant and friend.

While James Patrick Stuart and Finola Hughes have chemistry with almost anyone they share scenes with, the chemistry they have together is off the charts. They use their WSB skills to have adventures together and when Anna needs a friend to turn to, Valentin is there.

The recent scene where Anna wondered if she should leave Port Charles to attend Sean Donely’s funeral said it all. She felt she couldn’t leave when they are so close to finally snaring Peter (Wes Ramsey), so Valentin just took her hand and told her to go do what she needed to do and he’d hold down the Peter fort. It was a warm scene between friends and it looked like it needs to go farther.
That moment was the best evidence yet that these two belong together. They need to be with someone and Nina (Cynthia Watros) is a thing of the past. We also do not see Valentin being too happy with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) when he learns of her fake pregnancy. But then there’s Anna and she is always there when he needs her.
Anna also needs a man who understands what she does for a living and can respect it. That man, at the moment, would be Valentin. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see how this story plays out.
