At First, Everything Seems To Be Fine
At first, everything seems to be fine when he shows up at Anna’s door, her having very recently returned from a long time away.
No doubt he’ll tell her he wishes he could have rescued her from the captivity compound under Wyndemere-which was new since he lived there-and considered breaking her out of the French clinic!
He was still in Steinmauer when Anna’s trauma started, being kidnapped and gaslighted for months by Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).
He’ll likely also admit that he placed calls to the clinic posing as Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) to check in her when she was in the French clinic.

It broke his heart to know how Anna had been broken, and very nearly driven insane, but issues in Port Charles prevented him from going.
Then Valentin Notices Something’s Off-Anna’s Not Herself!
Then, as the two of them keep talking, Valentin notices something’s off-Anna’s not herself, and he can tell; he has known her for a very, very long time and for several years, intimately.
She keeps looking at something-or someone-Valentin can’t see, and he knows that she’s not as healed as she pretends to be; he encourages her to tell him what she sees.
At that point, Anna gets a tad bit defensive, and wants to know how the heck he knows that! Of course, it’s as obvious as the nose on his face that she’s seeing something-or-someone-who isn’t real, but he assures her she’s safe.

She explains how when Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and “Nathan West” aka Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) appeared, her Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) trauma reappeared too.
Peter August Is Whispering In Her Ear
What Anna sees, and doesn’t want to admit to herself, let alone to Valentin, is Peter August (Wes Ramsey) keeps whispering in her ear, and popping up in the room!
Not only that, he’s accusing her of things, and trying to make her do things that have deadly intentions.
She tries to fight him but he’s constantly there, playing the Devil’s Advocate, or, perhaps, he’s the devil himself!
Yes, Anna watched him die and didn’t call for help-but Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) did.
She feels a little guilty since he was her nephew, since her twin Alexandra Devane Marick (Finola Hughes) was his mother…but knows she shouldn’t!
