First Chad Left The ABC Soap, Now Luana’s Left The Airline

Chad Duell has become well-known not just for his portrayal of Michael Corinthos on the ABC soap, but also for starting a family with Luana Lucci, as they welcomed their son in 2023.

Recently, Luana took to social media to share an unexpected update, which sparked a wave of reactions and comments from fans.

Duell is a familiar face among soap opera enthusiasts, having taken on the role of Michael Corinthos in 2010, succeeding Drew Garrett.

In November, the actor announced his decision to step back from the character. Nevertheless, Executive Producer Frank Valentini has mentioned that the door remains open for Duell to reprise his role as Michael if he decides to return.

Luana Worked As A Flight Attendant

In his personal life, Duell tied the knot with Taylor Novack in 2012, but their marriage was soon annulled; then, he was engaged to  actresses Kristin Alderson and Courtney Hope.

In 2022, he started a relationship with Luana Lucci, and the next year, they celebrated the arrival of their son, Dawson. Luana announced a major shift in her life on social media, declaring, “This chapter is officially closed,” as she stepped away from her career as a flight attendant.

She posted a picture of herself in her uniform surrounded by airplane seats, sharing, “For years, being a flight attendant felt like my dream job. I took pride in wearing the uniform and hoped for improvements — that the sacrifices would pay off — but eventually, the dream began to weigh heavily on me.”

Luana’s Decision Is Freeing

She continued, “I’m overwhelmed by constant exhaustion, unpredictable schedules, and the long stretches away from home, all while I yearn for my son as I attend to strangers at 35,000 feet. I’m earning less than a sustainable income, working 15-hour shifts, and hearing the phrase, ‘Just hang in there’—but how long are we meant to tolerate this; ten years, forty? I’ve outgrown the part of me that believed this was the only path to a fulfilling life.

I’m in search of tranquility, mindfulness, and true purpose; I’m ready to build something that doesn’t leave me needing to recover. As Luana concluded her message, she remarked, “The decision to leave wasn’t easy, but it was necessary; I know I’m not departing empty-handed—I’m leaving with newfound strength and, finally… freedom.”

Numerous fans voiced their support for Luana in the comments about her decision, particularly commending her for putting her family first-Chad and Dawson also received positive mentions in the conversation.
