General Hospital Spoilers: What Will Maxie Do When She Discovers Peter Framed Obrecht?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Maxie Jones’s (Kirsten Storms) heart could be utterly destroyed when she (along with everyone else) discovers that Peter August (Wes Ramsey), her fiancé, has duped her.

GH fans may recall that Maxie had a conversation recently, where she wailed to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), “The truth was right in front of me and I refused to see it.” Of course, Peter’s poor little lost lamb of a paramour was talking about her belief that her mother-in-law, Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) was guilty of murder most foul.

General Hospital Spoilers – Peter August Framed Dr. Liesl Obrecht

At this point, Peter has done a bang-up job when it comes to framing Obrecht, so it’s no wonder that Maxie has accepted his version of events. Even Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Anna’s former husband and partner at the World Security Bureau (WSB), has admitted in recent episodes while conversing with Anna, that the evidence against Obrecht, “checks all the boxes.”

Of course, he followed that statement with another, more telling one … “Which leads me to believe that somewhere in there, there’s a frame-up!” (Obviously, Maxie doesn’t know about Scorpio’s suspicions at this point.)

GH viewers may be feeling sorry for Maxie by now. In fact, many have expressed their frustration with the fact that Peter has been able to get away with as much evil as he has. Characters like Anna, who ought to know better due to their training as spies and law enforcement professionals, seem to willfully turn a blind eye to Peter’s machinations.

GH Spoilers – Maxie Jones Learning The Truth

However, GH viewers may not need to worry about poor Maxie. The truth is, she is a very capable woman. Her anger, when she learns the truth, may actually be a cause for concern. Remember that just like Peter, Maxie has killed. (To be fair, her actions were in defense of Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).) Still, one may wonder if taking human life under life-threatening conditions can desensitize a person enough that committing murder may not seem much worse.

Those who understand human nature know that one of the most common motives for murder is revenge. Many times, the jilted lover kills the object of his or her affection in a moment of passion. With how much Maxie appears to adore Peter, one has to wonder just what level her rage might reach when she discovers that Peter has been lying to her face … for a long, long time.

Of course, Maxie may not have the necessary darkness lurking within her nature to allow a murderous rage a place in her heart and mind. Instead, she might think of other ways to exact retribution. How that plays out and what form any reprisal on her part might take is totally up in the air at this point.

With that said though, it’s a good bet that GH viewers ought to get ready for some amazing emotional fireworks in the very near future!
