General Hospital Spoilers: Who Mailed The Letter To Ryan – Was It Nelle Or Does She Have a PC Accomplice?

ABC General Hospital spoilers tease that the letter Julian Jerome (William DeVry) mugged Attorney Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) to obtain exists. It’s just that Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) didn’t give it to “Marty” – she sent it to Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). The question is, did she send it herself, or did someone else?

General Hospital Spoilers – Nelle Benson Is Presumed Dead, But The Body Hasn’t Been Shown

Nelle is presumed dead, and police “positively identified” a body on the Pennsylvania side of the river. Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was going to check it out in the morgue to make sure it was really Nelle! But that is the last that General Hospital viewers heard of it. Nobody or body bag was shown and nothing has been told by Chase to anyone either. He stopped at the Floating Rib for a drink!

It is implied that Nelle had been missing for several days to at least two weeks and that she drowned. Viewers will recall that Nelle was a strong swimmer – that was the whole ballgame of the case that Chase had against her in Florida. She had claimed she couldn’t rescue her former fiancé Zachary Grant (uncast character) when his watercraft was sinking. Chase didn’t believe it.

Several days to two-week-old drowning victim is going to be bloated, decayed, and quite possibly missing identifiable facial features and even fingerprints. In other words, they become fish food! Not every police department goes the second mile on an identification of a dead body. If they find identification such as a driver’s license on the body, and the height and hair color match, they go with it. No DNA match is done. As long as Chase doesn’t say any more than he has or mentions going to the morgue, Nelle may not in fact be dead!

Nelle Sent Or Had The Letter Sent To The Expert In “Playing Dead”!

It is true that Nelle did not have very many friends. Ryan Chamberlain is one of them that she would trust. Longtime viewers know that Ryan is the expert in “playing dead” – he was thought dead for twenty-five years! Although her fall from the cliff could not have been planned, perhaps the two of them discussed how to fake one’s death. It is pretty plain that Nelle could not have arranged for a boat to be waiting at the bottom of the cliff for her – or could she? Nelle seemed to have been a bit off her game that night.

She could not have anticipated Julian leaving the tracker inside Mr. Hopsicle! She was obviously flustered when she discovered it! However, Ryan may have taught her how to think ahead farther and have a plan B – or even plans B through Z! Ryan is a meticulous planner; that is how he got away with all the murders that he did for so long! One doesn’t just run off a cliff facing away from said cliff and then be found hanging on facing it! Even if Nelle was a contortionist she couldn’t have flipped herself around that quickly and found a handhold!

Oh, she could have stopped short and slipped, but still, when did she? Was she looking behind herself for Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright)? Carly was knocked out! Nelle did cry out after Carly came too and started shouting for her. Carly was afraid to help because it may have been a trick. Well, maybe it was a trick! Someone had to have sent that letter to Ryan AFTER Nelle supposedly died; the question is, WHO?
