General Hospital Spoilers – He Wasn’t Luke Spencer
First, let’s screen out some fun ideas that couldn’t work out to be Valentin’s father. One big one is the Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) theory. There is no way Luke could be Valentin’s father – for one thing, they are too close in age.
Valentin was born in 1956 according to most online character biographies, while Luke was born in 1948. Not even Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) could produce progeny at age 8! Besides, that would make Valentin and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) half-siblings and Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) could have all kinds of genetic problems from that kind of union!
GH Spoilers – He Wasn’t Cesar Faison
The next big fan theory is that Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) was Valentin’s father. At least this one makes some sense. Faison and Helena were close –but Faison was a lot younger than he looked (must have been all those years of being pursued by Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati!)
He was born in 1952, so he was younger actually than Luke! It would have explained Valentin’s closeness to Peter August (Wes Ramsey), but the age difference doesn’t work out and besides, Faison was ruled out as related to Valentin way back when Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) was still alive, and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) pulled out a strand of his hair to compare to Nathan’s to see if Nathan was really a Cassadine, as Liesl had always hinted.
General Hospital Spoilers – Mike Corbin?
Some fans are wondering if Mike Corbin (Max Gail) could be Valentin’s birth father, making him a half-brother to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Age-wise, this could work, but history-wise, doubtful. There is no history of Mike ever having visited Greece, although one supposes if Helena had visited Bensonhurst or another part of New York City in the mid to late 1950s a one-night stand could have been possible! Mike certainly did like the ladies back in the day, but would have Helena gone for him?
GH Spoilers – Edward Quartermaine?
This theory actually could make a lot of sense – Valentin is involved in a storyline where he is trying to buy out ELQ, and Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) was born in 1918, making him plenty old enough, plus, when the Quartermaines first came to Port Charles in the late 1970s to early 1980s (on the show, although some history places them in Port Charles as early as when Luke Spencer was a young teen) was when the Cassadines were introduced.
His niece, Alexandria Quartermaine (Renee Anderson) knew the Cassadines – Prior to her arrival in Port Charles, Alex stole the world’s largest uncut diamond, the Ice Princess, painted it black and shipped it to Port Charles. However, the diamond is lost in transit; forcing Luke, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Alex and Tony Cassadine (Andre Landzaat) to go after it. Tony starts to romance Alex and they eventually become engaged.
The couple teams up with his brothers, Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos) and Victor Cassadine (Thaao Penghlis), in an effort to take over the world unknown to Tony who believes they are making the world perfect. Edward teamed up with his niece to make money with her friends, Victor and Tony Cassadine. The plan involved finding the Ice Princess.
Then, In September 1981, Alex, along with several other guests, are invited onto the private cruise ship Titan where they travel to Mikkos’ island. Edward was a Navy man, and also traveled as a businessman, and if he did have a fling with Helena, it’s a possibility – we know he did have one love child before he married Lila Quartermaine (Anna Lee) and Helena may never have told the birth father she was pregnant.
General Hospital Spoilers – Irina Cassadine’s Father
Irina Cassadine (Alyshia Ochse) was the daughter of Helena but Mikkos is not listed as her father. She appeared between 2011-2012, sometimes referred to as the “woman in white”. In late 2011, Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons), Luke’s son with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) becomes fascinated with Wyndemere. While snooping around, he becomes suspicious that someone else might be snooping around there as well.
At one point, he sees a woman, dressed all in white, but she won’t speak and runs away. They start leaving written messages for each other, however, and that is how they communicate at first. Ethan then becomes the caretaker of Wyndemere so that he has a reason to go there and find out more about her. This obviously is during a time period when Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) was not living there. He then starts seeing her outside of Kelly’s, but can never catch up to meet up with her.
On January 3, 2012, Ethan’s standing outside Kelly’s and the Woman in White walks up to him and kisses him for New Year’s, then walks off. Later, it’s revealed that the woman is a patient of psychiatrist Ewen Keenan(Nathin Butler). She speaks for the first time on January 9, 2012, when she asks Ewen what’s wrong with her. Ewen says that the woman doesn’t know who she is, but there’s nothing physically wrong with her. The woman then tells Ethan that Ewen calls her Cassandra because she doesn’t know her real name. Ewen later tells Ethan that she doesn’t appear to want to find out who she is.
Ethan falls in love with Cassandra and they become lovers. This is an interesting coincidence considering Valentin was once involved with Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck) and Ewen was a minion of Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roche). On February 5, 2012, Helena comes to Cassandra and she claims that Helena has made her an assassin. She berates Helena for having had her locked up and hidden. Helena tells her that no one could know that she existed. They talk about how Helena wants revenge against the Spencers for the deaths of her sons, Stavros and Stefan. She says that Helena originally wanted her to go after Lucky, but since he left town, she wants her to go after Ethan instead. Helena’s making Cassandra lure Ethan into a trap.
Cassandra tells Helena that Ethan doesn’t deserve what she’s making her do to him. On February 24, 2012, Helena returns and tells Ethan that it’s time to end the charade. She makes Cassandra reveal that she is actually Irina Cassadine, Helena’s daughter. Helena tells Ethan that she had Irina held in a compound and she tried to escape and nearly drowned. When she returned, she had great memory loss and so she told her what she wanted her to know. Irina says that Helena didn’t tell her everything, so that’s when she found Ewen to help her. Ethan realizes that Irina has been conning him.
She was to make him fall in love with her, but Irina says that she fell in love with him in the process. Helena then has her goons bring in Luke, whom she has been holding captive and beaten. She wants Irina to shoot and kill Ethan and make Luke watch, while she has him taped to a chair, for revenge for Luke killing Stavros (in 2001, though Stavros comes back in 2013 and later “dies” by the hands of Laura Spencer) and Stefan. She gives the gun to Irina to shoot Ethan, but she turns and tries to shoot Helena instead. Helena had anticipated that, and so she had given her a gun with blanks. She then has her goons shoot and kill Irina. Later, Ethan’s mother, Holly Sutton comes and saves him. Valentin’s birth father could very well be the same man as Irina’s, whose name was never revealed.
GH Spoilers – One Other Option
Although Valentin and Irina having had the same birth father probably makes the most sense, there is a slight possibility that he could still be a Cassadine – depending on the type of DNA test that was done. If the DNA test was only to determine if Alexis and Valentin had the same father, then it would only show or disprove those results.
Although Mikkos’ brothers, Tony and Victor appear to be too young to have fathered Valentin, Helena could have had an affair with either Petros Cassadine (John Colicos) who was close to Mikkos’ age, or Dimitri Cassadine (Michael Carvin). We don’t know Dimitri’s age but he was a poor Cassadine cousin from Brazil. If Helena had affairs with Mikkos’ Cassadine relatives, then one of them could be Valentin’s father although he wouldn’t be in the direct line to inherit from Mikkos.

I think that it would be interesting if Valentin was the son of Helena and Edward. Valentin is already going after ELQ and if he found out that he was a Quartermaine then that would cause quite a interesting dynamic. I think that it might be interesting if Valentin was Mike’s son too. It would make Sonny his brother. I have also thought that Valentin could be the son of Helena and Victor Jerome which would make him Julian and Ava’s brother which might be interesting.
It Would Present a Most Interesting Storyline if Valentin Was Proved To Be a Quartermaine. However, We Love Valentin as a Cassadine.
