General Hospital Spoilers: Why Brandon Barash’s Return To GH Is A Must For Fans And Storylines Alike

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal GH’s former Johnny Zacchara, Brandon Barash just lost his job as Stefan DiMera on Days Of Our Lives. Here’s why his return to the ABC soap is a must for fans and storylines alike!

General Hospital Spoilers – Port Chuck Could Reunite

One compelling reason to bring Barash back to Port Charles right now is the nostalgia factor: the band, Port Chuck.

Currently, Barash is part of Day Players, a band that includes Eric Martsolf, Wally Kurth (known for his roles as Justin Kiriakis on DOOL and Ned Quartermaine on GH), and Carson Boatman.General Hospital Spoilers: Why Brandon Barash's Return To GH Is A Must For Fans And Storylines Alike

However, his musical journey began with Port Chuck, a group formed by GH actors that entertained fans from 2010 to 2020, featuring Barash alongside Steve Burton, Bradford Anderson, and Scott Reeves.

With Burton, Anderson, and Reeves all making their return to GH—though Reeves is back only temporarily—it seems only fitting to reunite the band and bring Barash back into the mix.

Who knows what musical magic could happen; Jonathan Jackson might even join in, given his close friendship with Burton, Anderson and Reeves!

GH Spoilers – Brandon Barash’s Port Charles History

Barash made his debut on daytime television in 2007 when he took on the role of Johnny Zacchara in GH. Initially believed to be the son of Anthony Zacchara, the mob rival of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Johnny’s story took many twists.

He formed significant connections with characters such as Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins), Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero).

Eventually, he discovered that his true parents were Gino Soleito (Joseph Sirola) and the woman he thought was his sister, Claudia Zacchara-Corinthos (Sarah Joy Brown).

His journey took a dramatic turn when he ended up in Pentonville after taking the blame for a crime committed by Lulu, leading to Barash’s departure in 2016.

General Hospital Spoilers – Brandon Barash’s Salem History

Fans who have followed General Hospital and Days Of Our Lives for years might recall the shows’ rich history of actors switching between them.

Recently, Steve Burton reappeared on GH after a stint on DOOL reprising a character he played prior to Jason Morgan on GH, and Scott Reeves played a character there too.

In 2019, Barash made his debut in Salem, stepping into the shoes of Stefan DiMera, a role originally portrayed by the late Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) from GH.

Barash became part of a select group of DAYS actors who have taken on multiple roles when Stefan was presumed dead, returning as his twin brother, Jake Lambert DiMera.

Following Jake’s death in 2023, Stefan made a dramatic comeback and navigated a tumultuous relationship with Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) leading up to his anticipated departure on October 28, 2024.

GH Spoilers – Back To Port Charles And Johnny Zacchara?

Johnny has been absent from Port Charles since 2016, but now could be the ideal moment for his return, especially with Lulu’s upcoming recovery on the horizon.

When Lulu awakens and learns about the death of her former boyfriend, Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), it’s likely she’ll gravitate back toward Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zaprogna).

That’s even more likely in light of Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) looming fate; however, if Johnny reenters the scene, Dante might find himself facing competition from one of Lulu’s past loves.

Additionally, Sonny  might still have unresolved issues with Johnny, considering that just before the passing of his ex-fiancée Kate Howard (Kelly Sullivan), she and Johnny had a brief romance.
