General Hospital Spoilers: Why Carolyn Hennesy Loves Her Character Defending Willow on GH

Carolyn Hennesy’s character, Diane Miller, defended Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) on “General Hospital” family court. Hennesy recently shared with Soaps In Depth what she likes about being part of this storyline.

Attorney Diane Miller is used to defending crazy, like James Franco (Robert Howarth) when Attorney Miller had to bring his removed tumor to prevent his exoneration.

But with Willow’s case against Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin), it “was a whole different bag of mess. It was great, because I wasn’t defending a crazy. I was against a crazy! It was nice to be on the side of right, again,” Hennesy said.

Hennesy added that Willow was definitely a better client compared to the others that she defended. “She really needed my guidance and, unlike almost everyone else I’ve ever defended, she listened to me,” Hennesy said. “Or she tried to as best she could!”

GH Spoilers – Diane Miller’s  History

Attorney Diane Miller first arrived in Port Charles in January 2007 when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) hired her to defend him when he was accused of shooting and killing Lorenzo Alcazar. It was Diane’s idea that Sonny remarry Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to prevent her from testifying against the mobster.

Since then, Miller has been the default lawyer for Sonny, as well as Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), and the fierce lawyer has managed to keep them both out of prison on many occasions. She also defended Carly, Elizabeth Webber, and Lulu Spencer at some point.

Attorney Miller is the lawyer you want to be on your side if ever you face a case in court. Otherwise, if you’re on the opposite side of her, you must be prepared to be grilled ferociously in court.

Other than being a fierce lawyer, there is not much detail about Diane Miller on “General Hospital.” Maybe one day GH could also explore her history before coming to Port Charles, and perhaps introduce a few of her family members.

Carolyn Hennesy actually first appeared on GH in 1981 for a two-day stint as a photographer’s assistant named Dora. When she returned in 2007 as Attorney Diane Miller, she was supposed to stay for three weeks only. But fans received her well, and more than a decade later, we still see her from time to time, defending anyone who’s not represented by her opponent attorney, Alexis Davis.
